Champions 3 times mate, when exactly were you top? You certainly know about never being there. More seasons in the bottom tier than all the other divisions added together. What a sad record for a sad club. What was your favourite game out of those three seasons? Actually you've probably forgotten as you must be what 110 year old?? You're worse than bloody Liverpool fans!! Do you REALLY think we haven't been top of the league since then my sad delusional friend? I HAVE seen Town top of the league, as have many others on here. You have NEVER seen your sad lot at the top of the pile, and neither have any of your sad fans. What many of your fans WILL remember, is your lot having to apply for re-election, TWICE

Ask the middle aged Ointment if there's any hatred or not, I think you may get a different outlook to yours. Oh give over, I am of that age, in fact 2 old members are parents of kids in my footie team, there is/was no hatred towards Hudders in partricular, or any team really. I am talking generally, the atmosphere from our fans at Leeds Road will be, and always has been, entirely different to what it would be, and always has been, at Elland Road. It's a derby-lite. Bullshit

What, the Ointment didn't hate Town or anyone else? Aye alright, you weren't around in the late 70's & all through the 80's then. The events of a that summer night in 1986 weren't the result of the seething hatred between the two clubs that had been going on for years? The Ointment don't hate Leeds? Aye that's true anall.

Sorry, my mistake, I miss-read it. Yes, I was certainly around in the 70's and 80's. I was too. Moaner30 is getting muddled up or has read too much firm porn. For every "do" there were umpteen boring Saturdays where nothing at all happened, far from "hating" opposition fans, The Ointment were gratefully happy to meet like minded souls = respect. Anyway......another argument, I don't hate Hudders and don't know and never have known anybody that does. Not saying people who do don't exist, I am sure they do amongst the younger support, but in general, it's not a "big deal" game. I can't speak for all Hudders fans, but again, I've read various stuff on various forums from Town fans in the last 6 years expressing goodwill (but not too much) to City and hoping we'd meet again, sooner, rather than later.

Good draw for both clubs! Would of preferred York away for selfish reason (easy from Harrogate on the Train), but little old Bratfud at home is if nothing else a decent derby. And as all the drivel their lot has written on here shows, it's the tie they dreamt of.

Some proper banter on this thread - been smiling most of the way through. It's how it should be in large parts.
From a personal perspective, and I don't mind admitting it for a single second - I'm excited for the game already. I don't care what anybody says: you can't beat the atmosphere and banter of a local derby, and the bragging rights that come with. I didn't give a toss about the LC before the draw, and I still don't - I do care about getting one over you lot though and any opportunity is most welcome. This is a local cup final.

Love the cup final jibes. We were actually in a cup final in February. When did the massive Huddersfield Town last make the final of a major cup competition? You've had no real success since the 1920's where most of you lot are still living. The fact is you are more pleased to be playing us than we are you which is pretty sad considering what what a great team you have with a far superior set of fans...*snigger* Oh yes thats spot on mate......at least after the greatest season in the clubs history we wouldnt have to ask our fans to pledge to buy the end of season review dvd for it to be actually made...........# tinpot!

And the feeling's mutual......
Or maybe it's not?
I'm sure that's the one you'll roll out again when 7,000 fans turn out for the game.
Town are absolutely massive - that's why only 10K turned up for the club's biggest cup match for years....it's why you never sell out you allocation at Valley Parade or Bellend Road. Because of course you are better than demeaning yourselves by turning out for such meaningless matches. It's top flight games and proper cup finals you lot turn out for isn't it...
Oh hang on - is that what's known as 'glory supporting'?.

No. I'm defending my stance of saying I'm looking forward to the game.
It appears to be so 'uncool' in Huddersfield to say you are looking forward to a local derby.

Think it will be close with parkinson doing well with you. the crowd arguements seem a bit pointless though. and Town always do take decent followings to local games, the prices for Liids away last season when we beat them, was £ 36 for adults, not surprised we didnt sell out.

It's called banter. You want to try it sometime instead of just being a miserable git. Oh i see, Leeds do it to us & they're arrogant but we do it to Sadford & its banter. You want to try & stop having double standards instead of being a prick. Show me one post from me where i have a go at Leeds for their arrogance and you'd be right to call me that. You won't find one. However you are a miserable git, and that's putting it politely.

8,932 turned up back in 2008, it'll be somewhere around 10,000 this time. And 3500 left early after the 4th goal went in!!
