Big beetle crusher shoes acted like skis down a flight of stairs. Great fun from floor 7 at Sally Nook.

Martin Allen's Brentford brought that to another level. Anyone else spend their youth climbing? We would climb hills, trees, buildings, anything just for the hell of it. I've just remembered a great one too. Grass sliding on cardboard "slick" boxes. we would go round to where bins was to find cardboard , deighton high schools slope great for doing that We used to "raid" industrial sized slick boxes from a firm called Macro (or similar) on the end of the Waterloo Industrial Estate. The best hills for sliding just happened to be a few hundred yards further on towards Kirkheaton. Great times.

was at deighton to some great roofs to get onto What years were you there? We used to play footy on the school roof, also the "music class" was brilliant for playing slam against. Anyway, "baggsy not in"!

Hare and Hounds where one went hiding and several had to find you.......I'd found a brilliant hiding place in the public bogs at the Open Market remembering to lift my feet up to complete the perfect hiding place.
Spent many a happy hour as a kid sat on a public bog on a Summer's Evening on my own trying to stave off cramp from having my legs raised at an unnatural angle against the wooden lavvy door....then smelling like shit 3 hours later when I gave myself up .....a winner but a smelly one!

Even when you got bored there was always the option to simply "go get a chase".
There was always places & folk who guaranteed a decent chase if we pushed the right buttons.

remember one game some played tho not a game as such running over peoples car roofs That was naughty & could of led to twocking. Once saw a lad do about a hundred parked car on the forecourt of a garage where Sainsburys now is. All the more impressive considering that he was on his way home after a night out.
