I have to say I'm a tad concerned........
Last year at this time, we were only 1 point worse off. We were in a lower league position but 7 points off the relegation zone.
This year we are 10 points off the relegation zone but all bottom 3 teams have at least 1 game in hand over us. Yeovil are fucked but with the others, anything can happen.
3 big games coming up and we have to sort our shit out. It isn't time to panic just yet but I have to say if we lose our next 3 games, we will be in a precarious position. I have already been looking at our end of season run in and this season, that shouldn't have been necessary.
We have a big squad and an excellent first team and it's time for the players to start and earn their wages!
Come on town FFS!

I'd rather have points on the board than games in hand. But anyway, my main concern is our incompetence in front of goal and therefore our inability to finish teams off. I'd be more concerned if we weren't creating chances, but we are. With the amount of chances we create every game, if we were even remotely clinical, we'd probably be on a pretty good run at the minute and be somewhere near the playoffs (as well as still being in the cup).
Yes we've conceded some shit goals recently, but....if we could be that little bit more clinical, we'd be fine, and I see no reason if we carry on like this (in terms of number of chances created) why we can't win at least another 5 games this season and be comfortable. Obviously this relies on us actually being clinical in front of goal, but another 5 wins and a few draws and we should be safe.
I think last season with so many teams involved, freakishly high point totals for going down etc was just a one off freak season that won't happen again this season.

At this level you can't afford to lose Hammill Vaughan Hogg and Lynch. These are our best players and as a developing club doing things sensibly our squad is not strong enough. We are aiming for mid table and to then invest again in the summer and kick on next season. I think we are on target and will get the points need with our key players back. I honestly can't see us falling to pieces like last season, with our chances created every game, unless we lose key players for a prolonged period which would be very unlucky.

Have to agree with stevvy there. You can't compare this seasons relegation battle with last seasons because last season was so freakish. The third team to be relegated will have significatly fewer points than Posh went down with, I reckon. Maybe less than 50 points. Not time to push the panic button yet. We do need our injured players back and with a bit more clinical finishing we'll be fine.

I remeber someone saying this time last year that we are in a relegation battle and I thought "shut up, are we f**k". I won't be making that mistake again. A defeat next week and we are two points down on last season. I do think we have a better squad this time around. I thought we had a decent starting 11 last year but knew we would struggle if we got injuries. I feel like we have a championship squad now. Last year we had a mixture of championship players and lge 1 players which is why we started to struggle.

One point better off than last season but look how many points we ended up getting that would be very very comfortable normally, just seemed last year was a manic one. I'm happy how we are at the moment we have played a few hard teams of late away from home, ill panic if we lose the next 4 though. Still think we will easily get in excess of 55 points which will comfortably keep us up

missed chances is the one positive from yesterday..
dire defending from front to back cost us the game..
we had scored a goal...problem with town isn't the missed chances, its because you know we will probably concede and probably more than one..
if you are up their missing chances its less likely that you will concede.. we stopped playing in their half and got mullered..
we can play and we can compete but it has to be a positive approach from start to finish.. we can defend at times for long periods but then have a crazy few minutes and concede. best we are up the pitch for as long and as often as possible..

Just been looking at the next 10 fixtures. All of them are winnable, we wont of course, but the hardest of the 10 are the next 2 home games v Wigan and Forest. If we can get back on track and quickly, and assume we haven´t gone from a decent team to utter shite in the space of a week, then points are there for the taking.
I always had a feeling that of the last 3 league games, all away, at QPR ( for obvious reasons ), Bournemouth ( a long midweek trip ) and Leeds ( because despite all the crap being spouted they are a top half side who have been going through a rotten spell, and all teams usually recover at some point, and no way would they want to succumb to a double against Town ) - we would be doing well to register a couple of draws. Well we haven´t got anything, but as I say the recovery for us starts next Saturday. I really believe we can take a haul of a minimum of 15 points from the next 10 games. That would give us 49 points with 8 to play, no problem !

Thread turns sour because folk like an argument.... Shock. To be fair I've looked through Moaners posts of previous and dont understand such singled out bullying as such. Slate me if you like for it but I dont really give a fuck. Alot of his posts are sense, some are not, just like everyone on here. Funny how its always the same culprits who get abuse. Superlopez and transfer dealings is the exception ;-) so just chill out

A lot on here are just think you should be up there near the play offs, can't understand why?

To be fair to him, seen some posts where he has an input but just gets abuse. This is possibly due to old issues, but seems people just are out for an argument with certain folk and cant let son stuff go. I judged him on a post yesterday, feeling that there must be a reason why he's arsey with people and how he comes across a twat possibly, but in all honesty id act the same if people just got clever all the time when trying to have some input on things. But anyway que sera
