while people are discussing fullbacks, what does everyone think of Smith? never really gets talked about Hasn't pushed on at all this season (so far). Gets done far too often for my liking. I'd give Pelts an extended run in his natural position.

Agreed - smith too often caught out of position or gets sucked into making a rash attempt to tackle. Much prefer Peltier defensively but he offers little in attack.

I thought Robinson was an odd signing at the time as I generally think Dixon is okay. However, I think Robinson has comfortably looked the better player since being here. He's far more solid defensively than Dixon and is okay going forwards, plus his long throw is a decent asset.
Don't think £1M for Robinson is obscene in the current climate. Obviously we couldn't justify such an investment on a full back who is just a prospect. However for the clubs that can, I'd say a full back who is alright at Championship level at age 21 has a decent chance of making a career in the Premier League.
Found it odd that Dixon was favoured at Fulham and found it even more odd having seen Dixon struggle at Fulham. Yesterday I would have taken Dixon off at half time; he was atrocious. How his and Lynch's repeated mistakes went unpunished all afternoon is beyond me.

Why is Smith getting grief now after a clean sheet?
Yesterday he kept his winger largely quiet, supported the attack intelligently (putting one on a plate for Scannell) and mopped up the mess when Lynch and Dixon played a game of after you Claude!
I thought he was solid
Smith is no world beater but the biggest complement I can give him is that since we sold Jack Hunt for £2m out right back position hasn't been an issue - all thanks to Smith (who has also rightly kept Peltier, a good full back at this level, out of the side)
