This isn't passing any opinion on BWF or Patrons or anything else, but to not incorporate away ticket 'stubs' into the away ticketing hierarchy policy it's just plain ridiculous and the opposite of what every single other football club who actually have the problem of over-subscription to away games. This isn't a new thing either, loads of clubs have had this for 20 years. United got 8000 requests per away game on average last year, and they manage to do I fairly. That's obviously Leeds, not Manchester.

I guess we find ourselves 'lucky' enough to ever have this problem and the faults in our current criteria exposed. I'll take bets on it being the flattest of farts atmosphere from our lot too. Hope I'm wrong. The club did use the 'away stub' criteria a few years ago, I had to show some stubs when we first started playing Leeds on a regular basis. They should reintroduce this criteria to reward regular fans who attend away games regularly. And you're right about the atmosphere, all these tickets will have been snapped up by the one away game a season brigade!!

Join the BWF and all these other money making schemes the club has, buy some cheap tat from the club shop, buy a new shirt every year. I am in the BWF although it wasn't to get priority for away tickets, in fact I don't know why I'm in it now, as I've won fuck all on it aside for a few tenners here and there. At the risk of being rude ar.....why do you bother mate!? The club has no ambition, the shop is full of tat, its ticketing policy is wrong, despite being a business its all about money making schemes etc etc etc. I find myself wondering if you will ever be content??!!!! There is NO ticketing policy which will please everyone, but the club is a business and surely has the right to reward its own punters who invest in it via tickets for the rare occasions when they are tough to get hold of. When i was younger i would have disagreed and agreed with you, but football is now more of a business and they have to ensure that they look after those customers whose spending keeps them afloat. Away fans are important, but without the income of the fans who spend money with us nobody would have a team to follow..........its not great but its a fanciful notion now that the club is all about football. To be fair Shawsie I don't really have any beef with the ticket allocation and how its sold. Hopefully I'm gonna get one, my mate is off to get some in the morning.

Yep, I have loads of away tickets from the old stubs policy, I remember I used to make sure I bought my tickets from the Town ticket office in advance even for games that would never sell out just so I didn't miss out further down the line. Don't know why they did away with it to be honest, easily the fairest method and could only be improved by recording it electronically rather than having to save stubs.

So today, according to the figures the club tweeted, we've sold 231 tickets, which I find bizarre given the frenzy surrounding the tickets. Got mine today anyway.

I'm sorry but I agree with the Club on this one. It's only fair that those who contribute most should get the priority. I don't have a blue and white foundation ticket but I am a season ticket holder, the people I am going to this game with do not have season tickets and so I am going to have to wait until tickets are on general sale. Systems like this were put in place when we played Liverpool at home in the FA Cup. Alot of people who were first to snap up tickets weren't regular Town fans, alot of them weren't Town fans and alot of them classed Liverpool as their first club. It's boxing day, a new ground and not the largest of allocations but I do believe tickets will make their way to general sale but you will need to be quite quick to buy them in order to avoid dissapointment. Very valid points and in agreement wholeheartedly

1) Patrons should have had the same priority as Blue & White. They always have in the past. Softboy Given you seem to favour the club's approach, why do you feel that being a member of an organisation like the BWF or patrons should be a more important and appropriate measure of loyalty when distributing Away tickets rather than how many away games you attend? Surely going to football matches is what being a supporter is all about (isn't it or am I missing a trick). A lot of time is spent on this board and generally about the cost of watching football. The club would appear to (possibly) favour those who spend their money on the BWF rather than attending away games. If you're cash strapped surely you'd prefer to spend your last £100 on attending a couple of away games rather than BWF membership. I know when I was at school and following the 79/80 team, all my spare money went on following the team basically all over the country & I would have had no money to spare for the like of BWF membership. To have found myself behind a BWF member in the queue for away tickets would really have stuck in the throat and I can't see how it could be considered fair. PS & before anyone points it out I know BWF members will probably attend lots of away games this post is highlighting those who may not. PPS + before anyone suggests it, I have raised these queries / issues with the club and to be honest their responses were quite frankly complete and utter sh*8te. The sort of response you'd expect from a politician when he was trying to avoid the question. On the basis of this argument would it also have stuck in your throat if you were stood in the queue behind a SC holder? One has to remember that the club does not get a share of any revenue from away fixtures (other than cup games etc). I am a BWF member but had to wait till they went on sale to SC holders so that 5 of us could sit together and of course on the second tier sale you could just be a patron or BWF member without being a SC holder to be able to get a ticket. Personally I think they tiered sale is right albeit I cannot understand the patron issue. This is the best answer to the problem in the absence of an alternative, sensible, fair and workable solution. The club is rewarding those fans that "invest" in the club. This forum is littered with threads about ticket offers and all which include comments about how is it worth being a SC holder when these ticket offers are publicised. This fixture alone shows the benefit of being a SC holder. I accept and understand that not all people can afford to be BWF member but their does have to be some attractive benefits for investing in the different revenue streams of the club.

Blindly giving the club money, what you on abart now. I'm a member of the blue and white foundation, one of the reasons being away ticket priority. If folk are that fussed about getting away tickets then they can join too. So if you love going to away games but you're strapped for cash but want to ensure a ticket for the really big away game you should miss two away games and join the BWF? Sorry I don't get it, I really don't f*****g get it. Any tiered system will not suit ALL fans. You cannot please all the people all of the time, unless you are a LibDem! There are going to be winners and losers. Do you think SC card holders should have some additional benefits? Do you think BWF players should have additional benefits? I always try and go to as many matches as I reasonably can bearing in mind I work in Africa. But I travelled to a Tuesday evening match at Reading and trekked to Ipswich. But my affinity and loyalty to the club is perhaps the same as yours but because you might go to more games, whether home or away entitles you to additional benefits than me, I too I really wouldnt f*****g get it. Just to be clear of any interests I might have, I am a SC holder, BWF member, Subscribe to the On TheMove Lottery, subscribe to Town Player and wear my Town Shirt in bed
