Nobody's interested in lickle ol' us. We're not seen as a big club, one with potential and certainly not high enough up the league. It's like the Greedy League - the top three or four teams and the other major players are on every week, so you'll get Derby, Forest, Norwich, Cardiff, Fulham, Leeds ad nauseam. I think we can expect to see more of Ipswich now too ...
Doesn't bother me much nowadays.

Unsurprisingly, Sky show the games that people will be interested in watching because it helps them make more money.

Think its about 80k for a home team isn't it? Not sure what the away team get, if anything. There aren't enough people in Huddersfield that give a shit about watching town play, so nationally there won't be anyone. Guess thats why we're hardly ever on.

I think it's based on the neutrals and those clubs with a much larger fan-base - Forest, Derby, Leeds, Norwich.
If we managed to increase our fan-base then I'd imagine we would appear a lot more on Sky Sports and The Football League Show. Unfortunately, it is all about the income and screening a game between two small fan-base clubs will only mean less viewers resulting in less income to that of a Forest v Leeds or Derby v Norwich game.

After that bore 0-0 draw against Wednesday I don't think they will be in a huge rush to put us on again any time soon. They need games with teams with the largest fan bases and who will interest the neutrals, we of which do neither. I persuaded a couple of my neutral supporting mates to watch the Wednesday game on sky, needless to say they both insist I now owe them several pints each.
I think our only chance to be on again this season is the 18th April at home to Derby, and that will only be if Derby have a chance of being promoted that day.

It felt like we were on a disproportionate amount back in the last couple of years of League 1, but maybe it just seemed that way because we had three playoff games a season.
I didn't think the Wednesday game was bad for a 0-0 (the second half at least) but it was comical how Sky were trying to paint it as a near-classic in the post-match analysis. I guess that's what they do though!

Plus sky don't want to show games where the stadium in half full and in our case whenever we're on its basically just season ticket holders that show up. Baring in mind they pump so much money into the game, I think its about time Sky insisted that any game they are showing has massively reduced ticket prices, maybe even free. Even in the prem at clubs like Villa, for live TV games there are huge areas of empty seats which from Skys point of view really takes away from the matchday spectacle.

Leeds game maybe? Seen as though it's already a lunch time kick off and they're sky's favorite club?

I *think* that unlike the Premier League, everyone gets a fixed cut from the pool of funds, and home teams collect a nominal "facilitation fee" to cover loss of income and all the faff etc. Probably better off financially being on as few times as possible.

The solution to this problem that is discussed so regularly is actually quite simple - get promoted to the premier league

I'm ditching my sky sports at the end of this season. I'd rather go to more away games.

Do they show crown green bowls - would be worth stretching to 2 quid a month if that were included...

Live Sky games tend to be attractive fixtures though so you'd hope thered be a decent amount who'd be willing to make the effort for the 'live' experience. If it was a standard game versus a Reading or brighton then i doubt it would add that many to the gate sadly.
