This. But maybe loosen up a bit with the subs. Maybe try one or two before 80 minutes? I think just one of these would do for me. that looks like the wife's just sat on a plate of salad in the nude

Why do some people automatically think that playing a youngster or two is going to weaken the team? Could it be that they might just thrive when playing with better players and actually improve the team?

I don't necessarily, however if they can't get in the team on merit then why would anyone expect them to improve the team?

“I want nine points. I spoke with my Chairman recently about the last two seasons, where we got 58 and 53 points, and we’d like to surpass both those targets. I think that would show progress for the football club." - LINKI think that sums it up, from the man himself. Some fans want to see us finish higher than the last season, some want to finish about Leeds, some want to see youth players starting. I'm pretty sure Powell/the club want all of the above but its a balancing act - the kids might turn out to be great, but it's just as likely that throwing them in too early can lead to a shit performance, knocks their confidence and may cost us the game.. then the same moaners who wanted the kids to start will be back on here saying how shit Powell is for not getting a higher finish. For me he's done well this season and I'll trust his judgement on the youth - He has seen us safe a couple of games sooner than last season and could well see us finish with more points and a higher position despite having half the squad the previous managers did. Looking forward to seeing what he can do next season.

We've had a couple of wins and everything's rosy in the garden again, but its only recently that we won one game in eleven and that should have been the time to start bringing these lads on. The results couldn't have been much worse during that time. At the time Powell said that he wanted us to be safe before he'd give the kids a go. Now we're safe he's making more excuses. If he gives them a chance and it doesn't work then I for one won't be moaning. You can bet that if Lillis had been given the job several of these lads would have made their debuts by now and one or two of them might have become regulars.

Maybe its because we have some talented lads in the academy that finished at the top of their league? Who knows, maybe some of them can play a bit? How are they ever going to get good enough for championship football if they never get to experience it

My concern is that the young players that are ready and dont get a chance, and after all our U21s and U18s have both had excellent seasons, - that they and others (agents etc) start to see that the promised 'pathway' into the first team is not actually available, then we wont be an attractive proposition in the future - basically the young players will not come to Huddersfield Town.

It's like eavesdropping on the committee meeting of a Works League side this thread.

Chris Powell must think it weakens the team,, Yeah but Chris Powell thinks Edgar is a midfielder

We should definitely be looking to play Lolley in these 3 games, hes been on the bench and made the odd start so wont upset things too much.
Then as has been suggested make some changes for the final 2 games with some of the younger players that have not featured, cant see the point in having Majewski on the bench tomorrow so one of them can take his place for a start.
