"So easily have made it 4-1", get a grip. Keeper had no idea about the save. Well done Oscar "baldry" Gobern. It was a poor effort as was Tuesday night's Your second sentence says a lot about your weak grip of reality The ball hit him in the face, you saying he meant it? If you're actually on about the 3rd sentence, I'm delighted Oscar is playing well but I'd be more happy if he was putting these performances in earlier in the season when more is at stake.

I think previous criticism of Gobern was very much justified. However he's now making it more and more difficult to criticise his inconsistency, glad I'm being proved wrong by him.

I think it might be difficult to be fit after injuries. Sorry Steve, has Oscar been injured since CP came in? If he has that's fine. I wasn't aware that he was though His injuries prior to CP make it more difficult to be fit while CP has been. Can it not be seen now that Oscar has bulked up a bit from the Bambi impersonation of earlier?

Glad he's showing a bit of good form, difficult to decide whether to keep him or not. If you could guarantee he'd keep up his current standard he's definately worth keeping. Trouble is you've got the feeling that an injury or loss of form is not far away.
Anything that keeps Edgar out of starting in midfield cannot be a bad thing and hopefully Goberns recent form means we won't see him in a Town shirt ever again.

Think the choice is get rid of Edgar and Gobern and get a new defensive mid or keep Gobern and don't invest in that area.
If we could get a player like Massimo Luongo for example in summer then I'd say Gobern can go.

I sit corrected, I did mean your third sentence. I like Nahki but he has missed too many good chances lately. He didn't need to smash the ball with height at the keeper yesterday when a low shot would have seen him score. At 4-1 it would have meant a different game and result from then on. He's just lacking that bit of composure that makes all the difference.

Why don't we just send Edgar back now? Gobern has proven that he is 100 times the player Edgar is in midfield. Wallace can fill in at the back. Get Edgar a one way ticket to Birmingham!

Upfront on your own with a team low on confidence then in a two with holt then a three at times with bunn and scanz, then two with Vaughan, now miller..... Throw in some injuries, being left out and dropped to the bench as well and it can't have been easy. Am not making excuses far from it, but I think he gets stick at times because of who he effectively replaced I.e. Rhodes who is simply a better player. Wells is a good player at this level though IMO and his partnership with Vaughan has at times looked promising.....hopefully we will see him fulfil it.

If he can learn to compose himself more often in front of goal he will be a top top striker. He could easily have 20+ for us this season ... Add that chance you have alluded to, his 'offside' goal in the same match, hit the post with an open net at Brighton, 2 pens against Fulham... I mean there's 5 chances you would have reasonably expected him to score and they are from the last month or so! Given that he is on 14 for this term I expect 20+ next time round providing he stays fit.

Examiners MoM: "Gobern - The midfielder's recovery continues apace and this capped his excellent recent showings as he added a goal to embellish a series of performances full of strength and composure at the base of midfield. His run off the strikers, first touch and finish were all excellent. 8.." Another player that the apparently awful manager, C.Powell, seems to be motivating and getting the best from. a bit ott kiwi. CP has been here since October last year and Oscar has only been in the team since Easter weekend. I like Oscar and I like CP, but it looked to me like CP didn't like Oscar , or else where has he been in all those months??/ He came back and also played well in a very good performance v Watford and got dropped, I think for Hogg..

Fair comments and happy to admit that I'd lost sight of some of that. Let's hope more stability brings more composure

I have given this lad plenty of stick over the years but he has been excellent in recent weeks! The lad for me has been at town for a long time now and not shown enough for me personally! I would not renew his contract in the summer especially with a long deal, if he got an extra year then fair enough I wouldn't be whinging, just wouldn't want him getting a long deal!

Difficult one is Gobern. hes shown lately that there is a player worth having in there but its come very late in the day for him. Hes not one that Id be sad to see leave but maybe we should offer him another year to either make it or break it? Can't imagine another championship club would want him given how poor hes been for 4 years here, so his next club would be L1 at best. If I was him Id jump at the chance of another year here to prove myself, but Id offer him reduced terms. He isn't going to get anything like he'll be on here if he leaves.

Wow, you're all right about him cos a few QPR fans, who were watching the Premier League last year, said he's no good already. Well done, really well done. Give yourselves a pat on the back if you haven't already. For the record it's the 26th August 2015.
