Sky News Newsdesk @skynewsbreak · 1h1 hour ago Sepp Blatter says in a television interview that FBI investigation into #FIFA is motivated by U.S. being "the number one sponsor" of #Jordan seriously the guy is a fkin numpty. Earlier I saw he was blaming Europeans for it all. Can't he just admit that he's been president throughout the most corrupt period in world football's history and he's failed to sort it out and therefore he should go? The dinosaur is nothing more than an old crooked failure

sadly I think there are so many snouts in the trough that their collective power will prevail. It is a sad indictment of how power corrupts.

Switzerland's not in Europe, seriously !! It's maybe not in the EU... but it is (geographically) still in Europe.

True indeed, although I'm working with a lot of Swiss people right now and they tell me some right stories (mostly about how they can make pretty much everything the EU does work in their favour).

The EU -- like all leftist ventures -- results in monumental corruption, so the corrupt bureaucrats will be busy opening bank accounts there.

All governments tend towards corruption. Bureaucrats love power. Leftist ideologies always grant more power to government. What is the EU other than an unelected, unaccountable, centralised, old Soviet style bureaucracy? Simples.

I think once he thinks its blown over, he and the rest can just go back and do the same as they have been?
odd that before re-election he didn't say anything about people plotting against him etc???
As I said earlier if the Jamaican guy who has been arrested cant believe they haven't lifted Blatter, then that's all you need to know about where the corruption starts and ends..

The FA are off to Berlin thus week to try and muster some support for a boycott of the 2018 World Cup but apparently some of the heavyweight European countries voted for him, if this is the case, that's gonna blow that out of the water before it gets going.

Warner is as thick as pigshit. No wonder he was one of the first caught. I hope this is true and someone captured the video before it was pulled: www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/31/ex-fifa-vice-president-jack-warner-swallows-onion-spoofHa ha: ZURICH—After the Justice Department indicted numerous executives from world soccer’s governing body on charges of corruption and bribery, frantic and visibly nervous officials from FIFA held an impromptu press conference Wednesday to announce that the United States has been selected to host this summer’s 2015 World Cup. “We are thrilled to reveal that, for the first time in 21 years, the World Cup will finally return to America, with matches set to kick off today at 5 p.m. local time in Los Angeles,” said FIFA president Sepp Blatter, smiling broadly before unveiling the tournament’s official logo, a hand-drawn stick figure kicking a soccer ball with “USA 2015!” hastily scribbled in black marker above its head. “With world-class venues in cities across the country and a rapidly growing passion for the sport, the U.S. is the perfect choice—really the only choice—for this summer’s tournament. Everyone at FIFA is certain that the 2015 World Cup in America will be a tremendous success, and billions of fans from around the world will, in just a few hours, come together to enjoy this wonderful display of soccer over the coming weeks.” At press time, the U.S. national team was leading defending champions Germany in the World Cup’s opening match after being awarded 12 penalties in the game’s first three minutes.

Apparently France and Spain are the only major European countries who voted for him, the vast majority of his support comes from Africa and south America. If England, Germany, and Italy all boycotted, that would be enough to cause a major shake up.

I have it on good authority Scotland will boycott it too, in preparation for this they've boycotted the last few World Cups too.

RICO works by rolling up the lesser members with threats of long sentences and making a circle around the top figures. Ultimately the head of the criminal enterprise will be unable to plea bargain and he goes away for a hundred years.
Blatters' anti-West/imperialism/colonialism message is tremendously powerful, and by his alignment with the discontented powers in Russia and the Middle East he's always been onto a winner. But he's pissed off a few too many people in the US, and has left himself a target for their voracious justice system. We're often ignorant that the attorney general is a political role, and successful occupants are guaranteed offices in the Senate and Congress - Rudi Guiliani's aggressive use of Rico against the mafia made his career.
Blatter's passport has already been seized - his allies and him are entering a world of hurt regardless of what Gambia's FA chief thinks.

Warner's has been seized.

Hopefully Warner and the rest of the motley crew will 'spill the beans' on Blatter and his activities under intense FBI interrogation and come to some sort of a plea-bargain deal by totally implicating the corrupt barsteward. We can but hope.
