Keep seeing Town tipped for relegation..
Is it just me that sees this coming season as the biggest opportunity for Town to finish in the top 6?
The teams coming down aren't spectacular and I don't see a team that will obviously run away with it at this stage. Town are stable now with a small, solid core squad and (thanks to good decisions in January) are in a decent financial position where we don't NEED/HAVE to sell our better players unless the price is right, and can in fact strengthen with players Powell wants in his first proper transfer window and pre-season. Town finished strongly and showed plenty of potential in periods under Powell. A lot of the squad is young with plenty of room to develop still, yet also quite experienced.
The league seems more balanced this season, and we're a stable club who's been here a few years now and where things are settled within the club i.e. we don't have an insane Chairman. If anything I'd have Town to be the surprise package along with 1 or 2 of the promoted teams to be up there all season challenging for top 6.

Colchester 5/4 Crewe 6/5 Port Vale 6/4 Blackpool 9/4 Walsall 10/3 Southend 5/2 Gillingham 4/1 Burton 9/2 We're fifth favourites for promotion behind Sheff Utd, Wigan, Millwall and Peterborough. I'd rather see you come up then Peterborough. Barnsley will go up

Not that it helps the punters but there are 620,448,401,733,239,439,360,000 ways that the table could finish. When you have a minute could you just list those for us please?

Would do but I've just got to pop out and some big jobs need doing around the house later. Hope the result is correct though - 24 teams = 24 factorial

I agree the 3 teams coming up aren't spectacular, but teams rarely are when they get promoted from league 1, but I think they are the strongest 3 teams that have come up for a long time and don't think any of them will have any problems. Bristol City got a lot of points, MK Dons got over 100 goals and Preston looked very good in the playoffs.
The worrying thing is I can only think of Rotherham who I expect to go down. I'm thinking maybe Bolton and Leeds aswell, but it's a tough one to call. It might become a bit clearer when the season starts.

If you read my post you'll see I said the teams coming DOWN aren't spectacular. I said the teams coming up could be surprises along with Town to be up there...

Who would have predicted Wigan last season? I predicted Chelsea, Bristol City and Burton to win their respective leagues, which they did..... and had Wigan to win the Championship - returns were over £6,000 from a £2 bet at the beginning of the season suicide suicide
