Great start to his career with us. Possibly too good and he's in danger of becoming another loanee we can't afford to sign up full time. Maybe we need to play him at RB for a few weeks to ruin his stats?

Wigan just signed him for 2.5m-3m. We won't be buying him unfortunately.

Wigan up shit creek in league one would snap our hands off I think. Still early days but he looks like a £2m plus player already and if you read wigans managers comments when he came there's no chance of Huws playing fir Wigan again.

£2-3 million would be a snip if Butterfield is worth £5 million, plus we wouldn't have to pay that much for him. We could part exchange one of our players.

Took the second superbly, obviously a very big talent. Can see now why we swapped huwula for this lad.

What's the deal then. Do we have him for a year or is it possible someone could bid for him in January?

Wigan fans had a go at him for saying he wouldn't play in league 1 but if he keeps this form up he will be in the Wales squad going to the Euros.

With an option to buy in Jan perhaps? I think he's unlikely to return if he has already refused to play for them. I expect his career is over at Wigan in the same way that Vaughans career is clearly finished at Town

I'm sure a lot of clubs will be monitoring his progress.

Hopefully we've agreed fees upfront for all the loanees should we decide to sign them 2 of the loans can be cancelled in Jan by either ourselves or their parent club so I doubt that fees to sign permanently will have been agreed although it would be nice and lot simpler I can't see it

I agree with you on this one Barnsley, I cannot see Huws ever returning to Wigan and I would like to think we could make an offer in January depending on how Huws performs for Town in the coming months , the signs are encouraging . P.S. It was nice to see a midfielder getting forward so positively and Huws took his goals very well. It was a very good home debut for Huws and I am very pleased for him and Powell.

Top scorer after playing slightly less than one and a half games for us, not a bad start!

We'll be letting Vaughan leave with no fee so that's a no go. Or he goes nowhere till May and goes on a free anyway? His contract ends at the end of this season.

I'd get a bid in now. Tell Wigan we like what we see and will offer £x.
As it stands we are paying JV's full wages for no return - maybe offer him there on a loan where we pay a % to sweeten the deal. I presume this is what JV/Wigan wanted when their talks broke down.

Maybe we need to play him at RB for a few weeks to ruin his stats? Can agree his impact has been very impressive seems to have good technical ability and a eye for goal which we have missed since we made it into the championship. Have to say though that I noticed a lot that he ducks out of tackles and a lot off 50/50 balls he wasn't interested by, so although I understand the hype about his creation and attacking ability, we have to be careful because this kid isn't interested in tracking back what so ever.

We should try and get a permanent deal done in January for Huws.. One of the championship big spenders will snap him up at the end of the season if we don't make a move.. He'd most likely break our transfer record but he'd be a sound investment long term imo.. Think he's burnt his bridges at Wigan so they could look to get a deal done.

He's rumoured to be on £20k p/w at Wigan, not that hard to believe given the transfer fee really. If that's the case I doubt he'll be stopping here sadly.
