Anyone know the result against man city today. Vaughan, Hudson and Murphy all played. Boss has food for thought.

Very surprised to hear about Vaughan. I wonder if he'll get a first team selection?
I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting him to play for Town again.

He's employed by the club & one of the biggest earners so if fit he should play.. Like DH has said, if he wants to earn a good deal elsewhere it's up to him to put a shift in for us & prove his worth.

Even got a picture of him on the website. I think it's to both parties advantage to play - whatever has gone on. I'd be very happy for him to be leading the line at Ipswich.

We should play more of these games. It gives the better U21's a chance to play with first teamers which can only improve their game.
Good to see Vaughan back in contention.

Good to see Vaughan back in contention. I agree. Bring back the old Central League with some proper opposition for The Stiffs.

Most of those top reserve teams in the 1970s central league would walked todays championship. Cannot see why the abolished it as it was a " proper test " for any footballer wanting to make it at the highest level.

14 players in front of him when he hit that.
Keeper was too far over to his left also.

Cannot see why the abolished it as it was a " proper test " for any footballer wanting to make it at the highest level. Lee Clark. He said the opposition wasn't strong enough now and they would have a lot of behind closed door matches. They never did!

i'd heard a rumour that the reason he's not been in conetntion, nor likely to be, was due to being close to triggering an automatic extension to his contract.
It is unconfirmed, and may be total bollocks, but seemed to make sense. Just lately, the exits of Butterfield and Smithies, and this issue, suggests a certain amount of discontent behind closed doors - players being told they should go, players not for sale one minute but gone the next....It goes on everywhere I expect but we need as much harmony and stability as possible..
