Yes it was a fine win and a cracking goal from billing who i have rated for some time. I asked ross wilson at a do, long before we had hogg and butterfield if billing could play a holding role to free clayton further up field where his shooting could have helped. I was tod he was 12 month from making the team but never then figured under CP. My absence to datm has been through loss of tintenet

My absence to datm has been through loss of tintenet Billing was certainly held back under Powell as was Holmes, Lolley and maybe one or two others. Fortunately we now have a bloke in charge who recognizes talent when he sees it.

Then you need to let him do it his way. Dean Hoyle 'cares' too. You should have a bit more faith. Someone who spends his time creating this convoluted conspiracy riddled diatribe has no time for faith... Now I will readily accept the title windbag but this thread must contain more monologues than the scripts Shakespeare rejected for Hamlet.... ! To be deceived or not to be deceived, that is the question

I think you have to file this DATM classic thread under the category...."I think that I might have been mistaken"...
Or in the "Where are they now..."? Along with Wasp (remember him??) and or old mate Moaner.
It's wonderful to reminisce sometimes.

You have all been conned and you can't see it. We had a war chest to buy players to strengthen this window for the season ahead. We didnt spend any of it because the players we targetted would have commanded fees!!! Didnt we know that when we made them our target? Did it come as a surprise? By defintion they were a target because they were what we needed, what we wanted but lets put that on the back burner because we can have them for nothing in the summer, nevermind the fans they can still watch the crap defence snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, watch us create ten chances and only take one and think ourselves unlucky to lose. This season has been written off AGAIN how manys that now ? So the whole point of selling our best players at the first sniff of any interest is not to fortify the team at all is it. The proof is there in black and white. Chuck in the old chestnut of "as soon as they showed interest the player wanted to leave" the thick fans will buy it again, even when its been proven to be not always the case. And the best part is yet to come these free transfers if quality can command a bigger wage and guess what we wont see that coming either as we lose out to another powerhouse of the division who we cant compete with when in reality we wont even try to if it means spending. I was genuinely excited by what Wagner was doing with our motley crew but fear not any modicum of success and he will be off too and whats betting he wont have any problems whatsoever in aquiring his targets then. I bet CP is pissing himself and i dont blame him. I would not care if we never paid a fee ever again. When we have in the past it got us nowhere. The world is full of wannabee footballers, cast-offs, potential etc. Some of the best town teams i ever saw cost nothing, its not as though we are going to the Prem and going to be signing 5 players at 20 mill each anyway. Would love our club to make a statement saying that we wont pay fees or more than 5k a week wages. Otiums reply is funny, in a hindsight way.

Unfortunately not, I recall those in this camp argued they brought about all the changes, which resulted in our success (although I doubt an unproven overseas manager and players that maybe cost less in total than Butterfield aligned with this).
