Agree he's potentially a good addition so i guess we were wrong to think that the money would be used on what was wanted and actually required ie the purchase of a championship standard striker to go with the only one we have. This is Wagners choice however so i respect that and fully expect he will do well and might end up taking pattos place if we dont sign him as i understand that is not a done deal yet, but no need to have a pop at marcus. Spending a couple of million on a striker guarantees you nothing. You do know how we operate, don't you? We buy small (and hopefully smart) and then sell big. It's what keeps us afloat... just. If we buy big and the player fails, what will you say/want then? Forget the seven million, it doesn't exist... it's just money that's gone towards us staying alive. Any more money spent on transfers will be out of Deano's pocket... once again! the same pocket the 7m went in? Where in my post did i say we should be spending millions? I didnt i simply pointed out that yet again we have not signed a proven championship standard goal scorer. I never put a price on it. We have lost alot of fans lately and i would say one of the main reasons for that is not addressing the needs of the first 11. Wagner has worked wonders with what we have BUT we as fans all felt we need more quality in key positions. This algerian lad will no doubt help out the attack but his actual goal scoring record isnt good, which would be fine if he were helping to provide the ammunition for one but we dont. So expect games with even more shots on goal and chances not taken allowing the oppo to score their one or two chances.

Why are they going to total 7 million then ? Dont be a cleverdick and stir shit up for the sake of it What has seven million got to do with owt? As long as we are getting good additions in, what's the problem? Agree he's potentially a good addition so i guess we were wrong to think that the money would be used on what was wanted and actually required ie the purchase of a championship standard striker to go with the only one we have. Actually think he could be a very good signing BUT CLEARLY NOT THE PROVEN GOAL SCORER we require

If we lose it's not just due to the ref and the red card, Wells should've made it 3-0 with the 1 on 1, and anyway, we should've been more clinical in the first game and won it in the first place. You have a point he isnt clinical enough alright. He is playing his best stuff at the moment though

Not sure if mentioned elsewhere (and apologies if so) but the BBC will be showing goals from selected games as they go in via the red button. m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35288904EDIT: yep, someone beat me to it on previous page, oh well! ok excuse my ignorance but that is a link for the web page, how do you hit the red button ? is this for internet tv? Confused!

I am not so sure about this one Think we looked tired and jaded v Fulham and this game seems too close to that. I think it will be a tight game and one where we will have to take our chances. The prospect of walsall does not excite me its a banana skin IMO and would sooner have three points on Saturday if i had to choose. Wagner no doubt will do his best to win both and i guess were not used to that, but its a shame this game came this week as a rest from sat to sat between games i think would have done us a power of good. Banana skin or not the prize of 100k and a place in round 4 against a beatable side is enough tonic to have the mentality to go out there and smash em. A win in round 4 then that's even more prize money and a possible tie against a premier league team. Don't underestimate the importance of a cup run to a side like us. Especially since the last few years have brought us no extra income through the cup. I agree just think we could have done with a full week between games thats all. Yes its high time we did have a good cup run but its a big ask on a small squad.
