Why isn't he then cos mignonet is shite. Nixon saying that Ward is a done deal (he's replying to a Town fan's question )and that Liverpool will sign a new keeper Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko @chefsmith28 Liverpool will sign a keeper. Ward thing agreed between clubs already. 2:28 AM - 2 May 2016 Assumed they must be signing someone but obviously klopp doesn't feel ward is good enough to be no.1 for them. Whether that means he'l be decent for us I don't know.

Given Dorrington's performance in the u21s and the write ups on Ward, that doesn't sound bad to me. Ward is 6'3 so a bit of height too, Aberdeen fans seemed impressed with his command of his area, communication with the defence, catching, "sweeping" behind the defence and commented on how confident the defence seemed with him behind them.

So how does everybody feel about it been a loan deal? The other keeper a loan or pernament ?

So how does everybody feel about it been a loan deal? The other keeper a loan or pernament ? I think we have to accept that loans are commonplace these days and is one of the consequences of bigger squads and ridiculous salaries at the higher levels. Don't particularly like it, but there you go. At least with a season long loan it will feel like he's our player. I hate one-month loans and they hardly ever work out. The main thing is Town end up with the best goalkeeper they can for next season and Ward sounds a good step up from Steer.

So how does everybody feel about it been a loan deal? The other keeper a loan or pernament ? Don't mind, as long as it's a 'season long' loan. Wouldn't want the other (Dorrington?) on a loan, too. We need someone in the goalkeeping ranks to be our long-term solution.

Would prefer an experienced keeper in his late twenties on a permanent really, hoping that Ward commands his area and is more of a physical presence than Steer.

Would have liked to have seen us push the boat out for Dan Bentley at Southend, free transfer but i expect he'll be wanting a huge pay rise given the amount of so called bigger clubs after him. Problem he'll have joining a PL or top championship side is he might not to play. He'd certainly play here and then after a season or two get his big move and we make some good money on him.

Me too, probably wasn't ever much chance of that given the supposed interest from elsewhere though. Being out of contract someone, somewhere will be happy to offer him a daft wage.

Wonder if there is a likelihood that we will lose focus on lower level UK players and miss out on quite a few - with our focus on German players. We need to be doing both imho. Interesting to see where it pans out in the summer - value for money will be a key I guess.
