Watching Athletico v Bayern & the commentator said that the current Athletico Keeper has set the record for the most clean sheets in a season (22). Anybody have the stat as to which keeper(s) have the record for most clean sheets in a Town career and season?

Most clean sheets (23) was in 22/23 with Ted Taylor in goal. Most away clean sheets (10) 1975/76 with Richard Taylor in goal (Poole also played a handful). Most home clean sheets (14) 80/81 when both Rankin and Freeman played for long spells. I don't have (can't be arsed counting) their individual records. And then there's Tim Clarke. ROFL, LOLZ, BANTZ, etc. But seriously, 91/92 when we conceded just 38 goals in 46 games with Clarke in goal for the most part, is the least we conceded during a league campaign in my time watching Town. And then they introduced the backpass rule the following season and we forgot all about his part in one of our best ever defensive records

Go on Danny, remind us all please

Actually looking at it now Clarke must have been a better keeper than I ever gave him credit for

Town could have a really good season next year if they get the defence sorted.

Only two teams in the country conceded less goals that season and only one had a better goals/game ratio.

Just goes to show what can be achieved with a solid back four (I know we missed out in the play offs). Town could have a really good season next year if they get the defence sorted. They played practically every game together, too. Charlton and Jackson missed 1 league game each, Mitchell 3 and Trevitt 5. That's pretty much unthinkable these days with larger squads and rotation. I also can't believe Jacko only missed 1 league match given the number of bookings he used to accumulate! Strange to think that with all the sports science, healthier eating, more substitutes, better training facilites, better pitches, multiple coaches for each position etc. etc. these days, that players need resting and get injured more often. On the one hand people will say it's a faster game than it was back then. On the other, people will say it was more physical back then.

Simon something.

Yes, it was. Some early evening thing which featured a close-up of the ball lodged in situ during the credits I believe.

Standing Room Only. Paved the way for Fantasy Football as Baddiel was involved in some of the sketches.

The Dunn goal wasn't in the 91/92 season though.

Is the 91-92 season the one where at the beginning of season we didn't concede for first 6/7 matches?
