I keep checking to see if he has scored but it appears he is not even getting a game. I don't know if he left on bad terms but I would have him back on loan in a flash. Anyone know why he is so out of favour?

I would imagine you would get an informed answer to that question on the Boro forum ?

One up front they seem to play, Negredo all day long in that position. If they did go 2 up, Sthuani is before him also, its all down to quality. As good as he is in the Championship, i wouldnt rate him as good as either of them two.

I think he was bought against the managers wishes, his arrival coincided with the boss considering his position. He has a way of playing and dosnt seem to rate rhodes. Pretty sure he won't be coming back here.

It's a hell of a luxury having Rhodes as second choice!
Would he work in our team though? If we could get him back for £2.5m and £30k p/w, with massive sell on clauses so you couldn't profit, would you?
Not sure I would

Not sure I would £2.5m would be dreaming, sure theyd want close to money back. and for 30k a week, a trip to Germany could get 3 Kachungas for that

You going for a pint at the Slubbers ? ……. and more importantly, does the Slubbers do pie and peas before night games ?? Important issues of our times.

He played half an hour yesterday so at least hes getting some game time now.
Maybe hes forcing his way back in.
I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

I'd have liked to have seen him on the end of some of Smith's crosses yesterday. He put some superb balls in and Rhodes' ability in and around the 6 yard box cannot be questioned.

Steve Agnew is assistant head coach at Boro.
Jordan Rhodes Uncle is called Steve Agnew.
Suspect this is one of those "football is a small game" deals.

Can't make Slubbers Phil... got my boy with me and will be lucky to make kick off never mind go for a drink. Have a good evening, though. Hope we put on a performance for you.

With his substitute appearance on Saturday, Jordan has lost his 'coveted' record. He is no longer the world's highest paid player to never have played in the top division of any country.

Rhodes won't be coming back to Town because he's far to good for us.

Another good footballer wasted by the financial side of the game.
He really should be playing. If I had his talent I'd be poorer, but would be knocking 'em in for fun at Town.

I wouldnt have him back, not because hes not a top class finisher, he clearly is and better than any at the club, but he isnt a Wagner player. Could you imagine Rhodes chasing the keeper down, running round for 90 minutes solid? No hes a box player, great poacher and id probably guess thats why no Premier team came in for him. Great finisher no doubt, all round game, not so good. Football is about goals yes, but when one cog doesnt work fully, the whole systems fucked

Higher up you need all 11 putting in a shift, especially as a struggling team. Also at that level you can get a finisher who does put a shift in, such as Negredo.
The game has moved on in what's required from a centre forward, the current trend is having a Kachunga type, with less importance placed on his goals but more in how he creates space for the attacking mids moving up the field.

He's a luxury player...
He will get you goals and will score for fun, but you need the rest of the team to be capable of carrying him for those few games he doesn't score.
I'd rather hear what the Blackburn fans think of him now... They've actually seen him play.
He's only got himself to blame for sitting on the bench, if he had been wiser in his transfers rather than chasing cash then he would now be playing for a top side imo. He went for too much money to Blackburn and then made it very hard for any other team to take a chance on him.

A class act in the Championship but if he isn't good enough for Scotland he certainly isn't good enough for the PL.

Just played 2 of the better teams away from home and failed to score in both. Hard work is great but sometimes in those games you need a player who'll take their single chance and we don't have that someone to rely on right now. Bearing in mind we could quite easily have got something at Reading with 10 men for most of the game, how much of our game would we lose by having one player out of 10 (outfield) who didn't have this in their locker?

Possibly quite a lot. If you don't press as a team you're wasting your time, as there'll be an easy pass. Besides, I don't think Saturday against ten men is a good example. He'd have been the one making way, no way would you leave him on when you're down to ten so early on. Otherwise, he'd likely score more than Wells, but whether we'd do better as a team I don't know. Edit- your point at the end is a good one 😃
