Brighton defender Connor Goldson has been identified as having a heart issue and will miss the rest of the season. The Championship club say routine cardiac screening discovered "a possible risk factor" with the 24-year-old's heart. Centre-back Goldson will now have preventative surgery. "This is a significant blow for Connor, and the club, but this is absolutely the right course of action," boss Chris Hughton told the club website. "We wish him well with his recovery and look forward to him returning for us next season." Goldson signed a new deal at the Amex Stadium last October and has made eight first-team appearances for the Seagulls this season Best of luck fella Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards THIS. regardless of what our football affiliations are, this guy is 24! Hope to hell they can fix this. Good luck Connor

I'll be at Griffin Park later today. I must admit that the manner of Thursday's defeat shocked me. News of young Goldson being out for the rest of the season worries me even more. If we can come away with a draw will be very relieved. The weekend's results haven't been to unkind thus far. I hope you beat Leeds..I really do. And not just selfishly. Your's is a good club, a proper club. I do enjoy my stays here. I'm not looking forward to Elland Road next month anywhere near as much and not because of what goes on on the pitch. But I'll be there as I always am. "Just not selfishly" ... hello have you looked at the table recently? If either of us or Leeds are going to catch you it will be us .. wake up n smell the coffee Think you might wanna read his post again

Think you might wanna read his post again Just did .. where's my fail ? Well you put 'just not selfishly' whereas he actually wrote 'not just selfishly', but I think you just took it the wrong way. The guy has been very complimentary of us and wished us success so I didn't think your response was particularly warranted. I knew what you were getting at though.

Even those being kind towards us appear to dismiss our chances, which is odd, irrespective of what happens today. It's like the non-overt racist that doesn't realise they're being racist. We are a new minority group 😂

Think I heard a few German fans there tonight anyone else spotted them? Which reminds me are our Scandinavians fans still around ? (The real ones, not the ones that always appear wanting tickets when we play Leeds) Got talking to a group of Serbs and Poles who I overheard speaking German (presumably because it was a common language) on the walk back into Town on Thursday. They were based in Manchester but were trying to get to as many English games as possible. They were very complimentary of our performance, wonder if they came back for today?

From the Brighton Bulletin. Nowhere else to put it.
A 19 year old from Brighton was arrested last night after being caught green fingered selling salad to what the police described as ‘desperate individuals’ on a street corner in Hove.
Paul Hayes, of London Road, was detained at 11.30pm after an anonymous tip off from the general public led the police to Grand Avenue where they discovered Mr Hayes ‘serving up’ to a large queue of vegans and health conscious Hove mums. A subsequent search of the suspect’s car revealed courgettes, aubergines and traces of broccoli.
Brighton’s large vegan population combined with the recent shortage of salad as a result of poor weather on the continent, has driven individuals to seek alternatives ways of getting their vegetable fix. Sgt Mike Wilcox of Sussex Police said, ‘This is becoming a big problem now. We believe a large amount of salad has been smuggled into the country from South America. The problem is that this stuff is not normal salad it is super strength stuff that has been grown specifically to get venerable salad lovers hooked. We advise anyone who is offered any sort of veg to decline and to contact Sussex Police immediately’.
A Brighton resident who asked not to be named said she had noticed a worrying trend since the shortage, ‘Only the other day I was walking through The Level and I spotted four separate groups of youngsters all taking turns on an iceberg. It’s disgusting, kids use that park. Something needs to be done, Only yesterday I saw one woman absolutely off her mash on courgette and it was only 2pm’ she said.
Mr Hayes has now been formally charged and will face magistrates at Lewes Crown Court in March.

Shame they got a point at Brentford. Dropped two. However, won't be an easy game for us there either.

I wasn't being arsey though it is early.. anyway it's game day .. let's get stuck into em Actually what The Reverend has highlighted is my lack off mathematical skills. I was thinking at the time (without the league table in front of me) a Town win would leave you both on 54 points for some reason, and a Leeds win with them on 57 so that's where the confusion is. I was texting a Leeds-supporting mate during the 1st half on Sunday and was telling him that I don't see them as realistic challengers. Town, Wednesday and even Derby worry me more. There's just something about this Leeds side that has me thinking they've been lucky and it won't last. I was in the pub at Brentford watching the game on tv and could see similarities with the game on Thursday. Monk had obviously watched and learned and you were denied room better than by Brighton but Leeds didn't really offer too much either. I haven't read your matchday thread but their goal was offside in the build-up - three times over in fact. I wish the ref on Thursday had been so lenient on Murray's disallowed effort but there you are
