Hi guys,
Well done on last night and giving us all the final the media never wanted!
I'm glad we're facing you guys as you've had a very similar up-turn in fortunes to us and have been a sound, non-arrogant bunch all season. I also don't think, like us, that you've been given enough credit by the media.
Obviously, I hope we come through in the final but if we don't, I'd be happy to see you guys in the Premier League over the other two clubs.
Can't wait for the Tinpot Final on the 29th!
Cheers,
A Royals fan

Reading absolutely deserve to be there and along with Town have consistently been in the top 4 teams this year and the only play off teams to have ever pressed the top 2. Kermogant like forestieri has been scoring goals against us for years so we'll have to stop him. Here to a great day at Wembley. May the best team win.

The team that finished 3rd v the team that pushed Brighton and Newcastle all the way. We both deserve this final. If you beat us, at least we lose to a proper set of fans who aren't full of entitlement and arrogance. Anyway, enough of the love in. Come on Town. 😉

Strange too that, the two teams with the lowest goal average in the top 6, should be the teams to battle out the final.. 😉

Hi All from another Reading fan (proves there are at least 2 of us)
Great stuff last night, well done and thoroughly deserved.
I'm a bit concerned about the Arrangemnets for the final though:
Many of the pundits booked holidays for the bank holiday weekend after our result on Tuesday and the rest probably joined them last night.
Sky are in talks with the Isle of Wight Camel racing association to ask if they have any meetings scheduled that they can broadcast on 29th May
Wembley are considering just opening the family enclosure for the day now that the BIG clubs ;-) are out and the Met Police have had their overtime slashed.
At the end of the day who cares! 2 clubs and sets of fans who have taken nothing for granted playing for the biggest prize in football. Hope it's us that make it, if not, once I've got over another Wembley loss, I'll be delighted for you.
cheers to May 29th

They say things even out over a season. Reading must have had about 15 penalties... even including the shootout last night that means we are still owed 3-4 in the final. Sort it out FA!

You know what although we both obviously want to win it's so refreshing that both sets of fans will have great respect for each other. Both written off and with a collective ability to stick two fingers up to the experts.
May the best team win.

Lots of our friends down here have been in touch already and we are having to put up with lots of good humoured banter let's hope we fill Wembley and give sky a game to remember with Town shading it 4-2

One of my favourite parts of watching the match on Sky (at least in hindsight, it was irritating at the time) was listening to the pundits desperately trying to maintain the facade that it was one talented team whose destiny is the PL, against a bunch of enthusiastic upstarts who have fluked a place.
(1) They start off by explaining Sheff Weds' masterplan in the first leg, to frustrate us and get to the second leg on level terms (despite their players saying in post match interviews that it wasn't what they had intended to do). (2) They go on to explain how Weds will come out of the blocks, and how they expect Town to sit back and frustrate. (3) They spend the first 45 minutes explaining that Weds are doing the right thing by frustrating us, and that it "must surely be part of their game plan" (this is an actual quote, but doesn't quite convey the near desperation that was in the tone of voice). (4) They proclaim it's game over after Weds score. (5) They slowly start to realise, as we dominate the next 40 minutes, plus 30 minutes extra time, with the help of some stats that somebody found them, that Weds were forced to play the way they did by us, and that we nailed the performances. (6) They finish by laughing about how it is the final that nobody expected.
I didn't watch it, but I suspect it was similar with the Reading game.
For anyone who has followed the Championship season, and especially those who think that promotion should be reserved for the three best teams, there is a real poetic justice to these results. Only us and Reading really mounted a sustained challenge on the top two. I think it'll be a corker of a final.

Congrats from another Readinger. I think we all hoped you'd catch Brighton for automatic whilst we're all amazed we managed to get third given our appalling away record.
Looking forward to the day out - and maybe breaking our dreadful play off record.

Will be easier to take losing to a side like Reading in the final than it would have been against Leeds or Wednwday

The club have given no update on ticket sales other than we sold 11k in the first hour. People are saying no lower tier blocks available so are only being offered upper tier. But the system seems erratic about what blocks it makes available for sale.
I think anybody who wants a ticket will get one, as I recall last time we just about sold our allocation and we got another 3 or 4k offered that I don't think we sold, I'd imagine it will be similar this time

Absolutely this ^^ Quite an amusing thread on our forum is from one of your fans who will be travelling from near Reading and asked would he feel safe on the trains. After about 20 or so replies he has so far been threatened with handshakes and a cup of tea.

I think it will make the day all the better, sure we will both be gutted if we lose but two managers who have done a fantastic job and fans delighted to be there. As long as you don't bring Trevor Senior out of retirement I'll be happy, he always bloody scored against us. Best wishes to all from Royal Berkshire.

Fulham were far better than Wednesday, at least in the second game, and were arguably unlucky. Reading though showed how effective they are and totally deserve their place. We've whinged about our exposure and commentary, but people would be apoplectic if they got Reading's....and they finished third!
