Clapping off Harry Kane.... do me a fucking favour, would their fans clap off any of our lads ??. He's a good player, but do me a favour.

He was clinical and his 2nd was a very good finish but not close to their best player today. The reaction baffled me.
The best player on the park, Eriksen, went off 5 minutes before him and got absolutely nothing.

He had a great game and performance. Scored 2 goals. As well as being an England player and a model professional Don't see anything wrong about appreciating that. It's not like we gave him a standing ovation, singing "there's only one Harry Kane."
What I don't get were the few individuals who proceeded to boo him off.

The purest and most distilled form of small club mentality I’ve ever witnessed. Absolutely, unequivocally awful.

You're absolutely right, brilliant football should not be appreciated.

Scored 2 today, doesn't bemoan decisions that go against him, plays the game the right way and will doubtless be our main striking threat in next year's World Cup. Shake your head lad.

The purest and most distilled form of small club mentality I’ve ever witnessed. Absolutely, unequivocally awful. What is - the clapping or the OP. You're not clear. For me its the OP. I like to think that we are genuine supporters who can appreciate a great performance even if we are on the receiving end of it. Like the commentator said, a lot of these Town fans will now become England fans in the week and cheer on Harry Kane.

He's the best player I've seen live and he took us apart today, so damn right I'm gonna clap him off. There's nothing wrong with having a bit of class.

The best player on the park, Eriksen, went off 5 minutes before him and got absolutely nothing. Kane was marked , albeit not very well to start with . Ericksen had a 'day out-practice match' just mooching up and down with nobody near him for virtually all his game time.. As he has 'reportedly' last over half a stone in the last week via his illness, Im bet he is glad about have a 'wee run out'.. the clapping for Kane is 'hope' that he scores one or two next year in an England shirt.. We are a desperate nation when it comes to the national football team...

Just a difference of opinion. Some people begrudgingly accept a great performance and don't feel the need to be all neanderthal...
Kane is one of the few players that just gets on with things, lets his performance speak for itself...
If he'd rolled round the pitch for 60 mins then he'd have got the bird no doubt...

I couldn’t muster a fraction of 1% of feeling for the England football team that I do about Town so it was utterly baffling to me. He wouldn’t get a unanimous four stand salutation at any other ground and it strikes me as far too much of the “just glad to be taking part” that is the total antithesis of the Hoyle-Wagner ethos of our club.

Class from the town fans . Reminiscent of the scouse fans in the seventies

I thought it showed a lot of class.
Have to be honest and admit it would never/have never done it though, but then i don't have a drop of class in me.
It actually caught me by surprise.

Class player, for the benefit of his career needs to move to a club who have won more than two titles in their whole history though

I remember clapping Collymore when he ran the show for Southend, Shearer's goal against us for Blackburn, Wright after his hat trick for Arsenal...
All put in stunning performances. Kane is a world class striker, in top form, who could be England's no.1 striker for the next decade. Nothing wrong with showing a bit of respect when the contest is over.

So the points accrued and decent performances so far are in your view, "just glad to be taking part"? I'd be surprised if anyone above the age of 8 is viewing this season as a day trip...

I was at a Euro96 game at Anfield when the Czechs totally outplayed Italy for 90 minutes. The Kop was a sea of blue of Italian fans and, at the end, they all stood up and applauded the Czechs off. Nowt wrong with a bit of class.
Well done Town fans.

I was shocked at how quick he is. I don't think there is a more complete striker in Europe at the moment, he's got everything

No, the clapping of an opponent who has smashed us indicates that. Football is a tribal partisan contest. Clapping the other team is weird.

One of the most clinical displays I have seen and certainly the best striker I have seen live. World class. He has now scored at least 2 goals in 5 of his last 6 away games.

Jesus, we have some miserable fans! How often, over the years, have we had the chance to watch a player as good as Kane playing at the top of his game? The man is a class act and, as others have indicated, he plays the game in the right way.
I clapped him off, and he so did most supporters around me. We appreciate a great player when we see one. Nothing wrong with showing appreciation for class, even if it is an opposition player. I've clapped opposition goals (begrudgingly!) when they have been great strikes too.

When it’s April and we need three points from the last four games, no one will be clapping Hazard, Rooney, De Bruyne or Sanchez. It’s complacency.
Still at least we’re not Wednesday fans.
