Apparently, Town are employing ‘spotters’ to keep an eye on our fans. Anyone asking for directions will be put on a list of folk who didn’t go to the corresponding L1 fixtures. They will then lose their P1 or P2 status. Those who know the way will be promoted in stature. It’s a kind of Challenge Anneka/Kypton Factor/Running Man thing. Good luck everybody. What if you know the way and already P1? Where will that take me?

What about if you went to Bournemouth when it was a 4th division ground, a 3rd division ground, a 2nd division ground, left home at 4.30am for a dinnertime play-off match, but don't go in the Prem?

I am flying in to Heathrow and staying the night there before an early train. Meeting Ainley so it will be a few (really) pints, a sing song, talking shite and no fanny anywhere. Train back to London whilst pissed...whats new? Wish there were still proper fights where you shake hands after. that happened at Bournemouth once, where town fans bounced some bournemouth fans about, your said man stopped a bournemouth fan from getting battered and shook his hand..

I went to Bournemouth in November 1987 almost 30 years to the day. It was the next league away game after the 10-1 defeat at Man City. There were very few Town fans there but we won 2-0 (one of only 6 league wins that season) and the celebrations on the terraces were memorable.

Were there really only a few Town fans, my recollection was it wasn't that bad given the distance & performances (although TBF I'd been out the night before and was really suffering so I didn't even go to their social club for a pre match drink with the car full).

Feel sure i have been at least 3 times previously. 79-80...we won 3-1...i was 17 yet went alone for the weekend. Nice weather for October i recall. Heady days. Fletcher came on and scored but my biggest memory were the tame squirrels in the park...eat right out of your hands...and still do. Went about 5 years back with a load of piss-heads. Ended up in a neon-lit wine bar that looked like Huddersfield circa 1985 Really looking forward to this one, meeting quite a few old pals...UTT.

Used to drink in the seagull before and after the match the landlady had got the eyes for me. She looked like her hair had caught fire and somebody tried to put it out with a shovel.
For ever and ever we follow are team.

Went there in 1991 where we lost 3-1, remember the year, as it was the year after the Leeds fans rioted.
Went out for a few beers after the game and ended up down to the beach with some bottles, where we met some more town fans. We got talking to some students down there and ended up with a full 11v11 game of footy on the beach at midnight and then got invited back to one of their houses for a bit of a party.
So many memories of away games

If anyone’s vegan or vegetarian I highly recommend ‘The Mad Cucumber’, a cafe in the triangle area of town. Also a great vegan shop, Sunrise Organics, one minute walk from there. 60 Million Postcards is an amazing bar, next to the Odeon complex. This is a football forum, akin to Barnstoneworth Utd - you sure you're on the right place & not looking for the lonely planet forum?

Given that it’s a 530 mile round trip I presume some Town fans won’t be doing it as a day trip and will be staying overnight. I used to live in Bournemouth so thought I’d offer some advice that may be helpful, as the thread is called ‘Bournemouth Plans’ and not ‘Bournemouth Match Thread’

Anyway, last time I was in Bournemouth it was just over 30yrs ago, working in Swanage and lodging in a B&B with a bloke who only ate banana sarnies for lunch. It seemed like a great place at the time & expect it still is from what I hear about the place, so expect those making a weekend of it will have a good time...

Greeting all, Just thought I would give you some thoughts about the game this Saturday. Don't park at the ground, if you do you could be still there when the 5.30 game on the radio finishes ! Street park is available round and about IF you get there early enough, The Sovereign Centre ( Boscombe ) 10 min walk is about £3, traffic after can be bad. However if you need to get away quick, if you park on the Queen's park golf course side of the dual carriageway ( queen's park drive ) pointing the car towards the dual carriageway, you can be off heading back to your dark satanic mills in no time at all. Anyone, thinking of drinking in the Weatherspoon’s pub in Boscombe will be disappointed as it is now an ice cream parlour !, so if a knockablocker glory is not you bag, you are going to struggle to get a decent pint in Boscombe. There are a couple of bars most of which are crap, so my advice would be to hop in cab and head towards the Landsdown / Old Christchurch road ( 10mins ) where there loads of pubs and food is readily available. If not you could check out Cricketers Arms ( 15 mins walk ) I will be interested to see how your Mr Wagner set his team out, we are, if nothing else attack minded and with Wilson back to his best, we have now four decent forwards, Ake has improved the defence, Begovic is great, midfield is our main worry, as we seems too lightweight for the Prem. If you flood the midfield you might have a chance, however I can see it being an end to end affair with a few goals ( game 2 or 3 on MOTD ) All the best for the season, can still remember your fans clapping us on the buses after the play semi in 2011. ( how did Kay not get sent off ?? me...not still bitter )

Have a spare ticket if anyone is short. Full disclosure. I was sold my pair of tickets as restricted viewing with small discount. Having been to Bournemouth before I can’t remember that it can be too bad but if anyone interested please PM me

There was a Simod cup game between the City and Bournemouth games that I went to on the Tuesday night now that was a low crowd I think about 70, I have a programme (piece of paper) from that which I think is my most valuable programme......still not worth a lot mind Just up to set off to the coast. Looking forward to a good day out. See you all there.

Bournemouth plans...now lets see. Set off yesterday tea-time. Tram to Krakow train station, 1 km walk to platform...train to airport 25 minutes. 2 hours 20 minutes flight to Heathrow. Half an hour to get off the plane...passport control queues. Two trains and a 10 minute walk to my hotel. Fall in to bed at midnight. 5 hours kip cos i stupidly forgot to change the time on my phone alarm. 1 mile walk to the Underground...2 underground trains to Waterloo taking over an hour...about to get on a 2 hour train to Bournemouth. Check-in to the hotel, get pissed, walk to the ground and watch Town get close to a Europa League spot. Back on the celebratory piss, a few hours kip and then reverse the whole travel process. I must be mad UTT!!!
