I’m pleased for Barnsley, in particular their outgoing owner who has managed them very well and is horrifically ill.
I could think of far worse teams to have as Yorkshire’s number two!

We have no debt, one of the best young coaches in the country, proven experience of developing players (four of back five for England against Lithuania have been at Oakwell), Good relationships with premiership clubs, brilliant academy. Hopefully join you in the premiership in a few seasons as it's brilliant what you're doing. Almost safe.

My why? was referring to why they didn't go after a somewhat bigger market team. I live in Oakland, California, so know this subject well, but good luck when you get here except, of course, against us.

I can see a day in the not-too-distant future when ALL Premier clubs are owned by billionaires from America, Russia, China, Thailand, Middle-east countries etc...
Burnley and Huddersfield might be that last two to resist.

The Barnsley team that gave us a right hiding were one of the best teams to watch of the past few years..The one that did us in the play offs was a very tough team.. I have no axe at all to grind with Barnsley FC.. Hope they do as well as us, nearly..

Always the same when some foreigners take over with all the fans getting excited that they're going to sign loads of players and walk the league. The first bit often happens but not the second
Barnsley will still probably end up back in league one

The first bit often happens but not the second Barnsley will still probably end up back in league one But, when GFH and then Celino took over Leeds they were going to walk the league. Assume they're in the premier league by now. Mid table perhaps. Then they signed Pedraza and Barrow and their pace was going to be the difference for them.

Shame on you!

Cheap option for a go at the Prem. Probably cost them £30 mill....chance of 500 mill if they get it right and have a few years in the Prem.

Does that include the £20 million I've read that they've paid to buy the Club? Exciting times for the moment at Barnsley. Will be interesting to see how the new owners get on. It would be nice to see another unfashionable club get promoted and do it quicker than the so called sleeping giants and has beens in the championship.

If Billy Beane is involved in any sort of recruitment capacity, this could be very interesting indeed.

Selling your soul to the devil. Eventually DH will pass the club on, and it will happen to us.
