Prepared to be shot down but I've just looked at our final 9 fixtures and can find a justification for getting something from every game. I know we won't go unbeaten, but taken in isolation there's an argument that every single match we have left has something for us to play for. (I know you should always have this attitude, but...)
Here are the fixtures:
Swansea (H) Palace (H) Newcastle (A) Brighton (A) Watford (H) Chelsea (A) Everton (H) Man City (A) Arsenal (H)
The 6 that are more obvious to expect something from are Swansea, Palace, Toon, Brighton, Everton and Watford. 18 points there and I can see us getting between 8 and 10 from these, if we play at our best. Remember, 4 of these 6 are at home, and 2 are against sides we beat away (Palace, Watford). Swansea and Everton are both dire away from home and while they may be sides we should be wary of, they have spongy defences - if we get at them they're there for the taking.
The three toughest, on paper, are Chelsea, City and Arsenal. I thin we could get 5 points here, drawing the two away and winning at home. Conte wants to get the sack, clearly. City will be home and hosed, with an eye on the FA Cup and Champions League finals. Arsenal are a shower and in freefell.
NOTE: I am not on glue, have not suffered a blow to the head, and am fully prepared to admit I'm deluded.
How do you think we will do?

Best we have done over 9 games this season is 12 points, worst we have done over 9 games is 6 points. So, I will go for the middle......9 points gained, leaving us on 39 and safe!!!!

grim, I will be delighted if we beat Swansea..should we win the 2 home games I will be off my trolley...
maybe brighton will get enough points between now and our game and newcastle might drop further points..
we might have a plan now for the next 5 games but it will encounter teams who have had to change theirs given their next couple of results etc..
very much hoping that watford take their ball home again before we play them here..
Everton could really go either way from here on in..
chelsea, man city and arsenal might just be fixtures we have to see out..?
for our first season here I dont want it to go to the last games or two but of course if it does it means we are still in with a shot..

We average 1.03 points per game. The remaining fixtures are a good mix of the league, 3 of the top 6, couple of teams mid table and the rest in the shit with us. We should average the same, giving us another 9 points, which may be enough.

You think we are going to get between 13 and 15 points? And yet noone has picked this option? So you made a poll and not voted.... I think we shall lose an obvious one and have a result in an unexpected one... so between 7 and 10 points for me, enough to keep us up and be safe on the last day

With 5 home games left against teams who have managed to win 12 away game between them I'd be disappointed if we can't get 9 points. We should be capable of getting afew points off Brighton & Newcastle aswell.

----------= 10 points
By my reckoning we'll be staying up having endured a 5-game lean period in the last 9.

8 points and survive. Swansea and Palace wins. Watford and Arsenal draw. We survive with 1 match to go as despite losing at Man City the other results go our way

The lowest i have ever felt after a game, and i have watched Town for many a year, was Macclesfield away, lost 4-0 in the bottom division. The season ended up being ok but i actually thought on this day we could quite possibly get relegated from the Football League.

Long overdue is this thread, as we haven't had many threads asking a similar question over the past few days FWIW we'll get more than enough points. Everyone needs to relax a bit. In Wagner we trust

Sure beats a mid table mediocrity end to the season. Although the PL doesn't seem to have a mid table this season. I predicted (fairy) our results for the last twelve games and had us finishing on 40 points. As it stands I'm actually two points in hand, because I had us downto draw away to WBA.. BELIEVE.

Where's the 26 point option? There isn't one, as it's mathematically impossible for us to get 26 points from the remaining fixtures.

I'd be happy to lose to Brighton and Watford as long as we beat Palace and Swansea.

The next 2 home games are so crucial it's unbelievable.
Win them and we're safe, I reckon.
Lose them and I fear for us.
It's gonna be exciting, if nothing else.
