Across the W/C competition, Brazil had 32 shots on target from open play. England had just 6.....the same as Saudi Arabia, Iceland. The lowest in the competition.
Town for 2 seasons.....then England in the W/C. "Daddy, what is a 'shot on target'?"

Town for 2 seasons.....then England in the W/C. "Daddy, what is a 'shot on target'?" I think that says something about people thinking shots on target makes you successful. Town last 2 years have not had a great record of shots, look where we are now. England have not had a great record as you say, we made the semi final for the first time in nearly 30 years. People need to get with the times.

And yet, England came away with 12 goals (not including shoot out penalties) and Brazil only 8... ...which demonstrates how meaningless shots on target from open play is, in the modern game with very well matched teams. When it’s tight, free kicks, corners and penalties create the difference, not what happens in open play.
