Wolves spent circa 18m on a guy that can run quick and not much else.that most on here wanted to sign. The only difference between them is a bit of upper body strength. Both same age Mbenza is a better crosser of the ball than Traore.

I like Mbenza, he should have been bedded straight in at the start of the season. We'd be seeing so much more from him now.
Diakhaby looks to be totally lost, he doesn't know where to be at any point in a game.

Diakhaby is very fast but he doesn't have any other attributes. He can't control a ball and has no positional sense. I think there maybe potential. But we shouldn't have bought potential considering Diakhaby, Mbenza, Sobhi and Bacuna are all players brought in with 'potential', Diakhaby is an absolute waste of £8m.

Jesus this is how desperate we have become and that we've been starved if decent attacking players that these two are thought of as the answer or that some fans can 'see something in them'. These guys are dire, they should never have been signed. French football must be utter crap if these guys are considered top class standard. These two are the epitome of what's gone wrong at Town this season. Although it may be a lot given our previous transfer history these guys cost peanuts in PL terms. This is the league where you pay £35m for Danny Drinkwater, FFS! They're not world beaters, and I doubt they were bought on that basis. Having said that, I'm in the camp who can "see something" in Mbenza. Pace and power and whips in a good cross / corner. If he stays next season I think he'll do well against the vastly inferior Championship defences, maybe benefitting from a hopefully more adventurous style of play.

For me, I can at least see some genuine potential in Mbenza and Bacuna, Sobhi may do well in Championship (if we do get relegated ), and as for Diakhaby, well after yesterday I think the jury is still out, but maybe there is something there, just not to sure what. Definately see Mbenza improving already, really needs playing time. Bacuna I think needs playing time, but also needs to mature a bit as well.

I hope that’s rubbish. Cos he’s poor. Can’t believe we got rid of ince and lolley ( neither of which were good enough) and replaced them with IM AD MS. It literally is unbelievable how poor the three of them have been. But he's probably the most promising of the three. If he's the one we lose, that's a double kick in the balls. Agree but to be honest, even though Mbenza could have potential, at the sort of money quoted, i think we’d be better spending it on a proven striker for the championship. So if we can get out of making it permanent I would. And then see if we can offload the other two.

I don;t think Mbenza is even worth a fraction of the money Ive heard that he would cost to buy. £3m- £4m tops and that would be a gamble. He can cross a ball but theres not a lot else that has been impressive. The worst thing about him is hes an absolute pussy. If theres a chance he might get hurt, he simply doesnt want to know. Not sure thats what you need in the Championship! Diakhaby is a funny one. Has bags of pace but just doesn;t have the football brain to make use of it. His decision making is all over the place. There could be a good player in both of them, but equally both are some way off that yet. If what I heard about our recruitment system is true ( wagners says what he wants but Rebbe chooses who we get ) then the poor quality of the players we brought in forced wagners hand into scrapping the idea of playing with wingers as hed wanted to do. Think when the autopsy of this season is done, the key thing that has caused our downfall will be the appointment of Rebbe.

Seemed obvious from day one this season IMO but his dismissal pretty much confirms it. I like the look of Mbenza as one for the future at maybe £2M but like you say at £13M massively over priced and he was never anywhere near good enough for what we needed. If we can get out of the deal and save £10M we absolutely should do. We don't have that option with Diakhaby as he's our player. I just hope these players have relegation clauses, if not we're gonna have sulking foreign players in the camp on massive wages, not playing and bringing down the whole squad. I guess we'll be working hard to cut our losses and get shut unless the new guy thinks he sees something. Whatever happens I dont want to be going into the championship season with these 2 plus Sobhi as our first choice wingers. Lets get VLP back and buy Ince back from Stoke, both proven championship quality and known quantities

If we are obliged to pay £13m for Mbenza, or even half that, it would go down as the most tragically horrendous deal in this clubs history by some way. It would make the whole George Donis affair look like a brilliant piece of business!
These things are normally a loan with an option to buy. If we didn;t include that get out option, then why wouldnt we have just bought him to start with?
If we could get him for £2m. then he 'might' be worth the risk... might. Anything over that then id take the option of sending him back.
The sad thing is to compound it more, Joe Lolley, for all the faults he had, was and is a VASTLY better player than Mbenza!

Think when the autopsy of this season is done, the key thing that has caused our downfall will be the appointment of Rebbe. it may come out, may not, that Rebbe was insisted upon by a certain Mr Wagner... then found that the 'dream team' didnt work as well as they thought? Dave was in agreement over the wide players brought in, changed his mind either on seeing them (over a very short time) or just changed his attacking tactics.. these 2/3 lads were then left out in the cold due to the fall out between the managerial staff.. Its all hearts and flowers at the moment for the image of the club.. I cant argue with that but unfortunately anyone 'in the know' in the game itself will have some knowledge of the problems.. Like most things these days its tough to keep a secret.. A player left out in the cold and not properly coached into a system, especially a young one coming to a new country and a much tougher league etc, may well look 'all over the place' on the odd occasion he gets to kick a ball in anger??

They have pace to burn and that will come in useful should a coach be able to get them playing to a satisfactory standard.

Although Mbenza has only shown a few glimpses and Diakhaby not really shown anything in matches, there MUST be something there in both of them.
They've been watched in training for 6 months so far which has resulted in Wagner, Buhler, Hughes and now Hudson (possibly Whitehead) thinking that they are worth a place in the team. No way can you pull the wool over so many people's eyes. You also don't get into the French and Belgium U21s unless you can play.
Their confidence must be shot, which combined with a massive step up in quality for them has made it a difficult start to their Town careers. However other , more experienced players also found it difficult to settle in. Schindler took a while to get to grips with English football and that was at a lower level.
If they're here next season I've a feeling that both could be great assets in the Championship.

Pace is great but you need something to make us of it. To me neither look remotely good enough to play in the premier division... yet. Bacuna is the same. They might or might not be in future, but for the hear and now, they have been no use to us at all. Belief and coaching by the right manager might get them there in the end, but we needed them to hit the ground running.

Mbenza - ability but not ready or experienced enough for the Premier League Diakhaby - no heart, not up to the physicality of English football, probably go well back in France Bacuna - showed up well against Newcastle but it's a big step up in this league, will get better with time, how good he will be is difficult to say

I think the Diakhaby and Mbenza experiment yesterday worked to some extent, it made man city sit off us more than if we had mounie and pritchard as the attacking threat. They were playing balls from 40 yards rather than on the edge of our box because they knew that we could potentially hurt them on the counter with the pace we had in the team.
The recruitment in the summer and subsequent changes in formation are what have relegated us. When we got to the premier league 18 months ago, I said its a league that you live and die by your recruitment. Moss did "OK", we had the chance in the summer to build on that and get it spot on..... and we royally fucked it up.
Not one of them good enough, even durm is struggling to have an impact. If we weren't buying a striker we needed some genuine quality delivered into the box, which we didn't achieve. We needed another attacking midfielder.... again drew a blank, Two new wing back.... again nothing,
We wasted money on Kongolo, Hes a good player, but he should have been first choice center half, not a makeshift left back. So we switched to a 3 at the back to accommodate him, rather than dropping zanka.
We didn't make use of the try before you buy loan market whatsoever and now we are lumbered with players that are likely to leave for peanuts at the end of their contracts.
The MOST important position we need to fill and fill quickly is the DOF position and it needs to be bang on.

Didn't realise Mbenza was being touted in the 13 million bracket, way too much even by inflated prem standards. We can probably get better value for money in the summer. He's so far shown more potential than the other signings but that'll probably be beyond our budget for his position even with parachute payments. Rather see the money go toward a quality striker if one becomes available.

I think if/when end up back in the Championship, a front three of Diakhaby Mounie Mbenza could be potent with some coaching. If the new guy convinces Puncheon to stay, a midfield of Sabiri Hogg Puncheon would be more than enough. Honestly think it’d be the makings of a very good team.

Mbenza you can see the potential in, and while he's nowhere near PL quality yet, you can see the improvement with each game. Diakhaby, I don't like writing any player off but my god he is fucking awful, and I don't really know what else there is to say about him. You never know though, he is still relatively young and sometimes players can undergo a bit of a transformation. Let's see what the new manager makes of him. He's played about four games, how the fuck can you judge him on that? Because he's looked fucking awful in every single one of them.

Likewise! Mbenza so terrible that the premier league champions frequently made sure Walker had plenty of cover in the second half. Only because Walker was on a yellow. There’s always a mitigating circumstance. Really easy to defend your viewpoint if you just ignore everything that counters it. Give them a break for crying out loud. Diakhaby, Mbenza and Bacuna all showed promise yesterday. Mbenza has done repeatedly over the last few months. Heaven forbid we give them a run and support them to see how good they can be.
