Chelsea (or possibly Man C) spent £7m on someone and loaned him back out. A couple of weeks Chelsea spent £50m+ on someone and loaned him back out...
People just need to get their heads round the fact we're competing in a transfer market that allows some clubs that sort of luxury...
This lad from Charlton could be one for us to develop, provide us some great service and goals and then gobbled up in not too many yrs time for ten times his fee.
Anyway, back to the football tomorrow, we remain in a nothing to lose position, let's hope we don't capitulate early and get the lads heads down...

To be honest I've found the Premier League an experience that has opened my eyes to the gulf in finances between your normal teams and the likes of Town. It's left a bitter taste if I'm perfectly honest. How dare a side like Town try to compete in a league where dirty* money washes around? The ref's being under instructions (in my opinion) to look after the billy big bollocks sides (protecting the brand that is the Premier League). Going down is a disaster but it's not the end of the world. We will go again. No guarantees we will bounce back at all though. My dad might even stop moaning (but I'm not holding my breath) I don't think it's a disaster at all. It's not even a financial disaster; i'm sure someone from within the club said that this 2 year PL experience has secured the financial future of this club for at least the next 10 years (providing whoever runs the club is sensible of course). For me this season has been disappointing and a missed opportunity. But a missed opportunity for what exactly? Just to have another season in the PL and earn another £120m at the end of the day. It would never be anything more than surviving and adding a shit load of money to the pot. We'll never win anything while we're in this god awful league. At least in the bottom 3 divisions we regularly win play-off finals, promotion etc. We'll never win a League Cup or an FA Cup (in my 48 years we've never come anywhere near). onAnd it's not all just down to piss poor management from within the club like a lot on here would have us believe. Yes the recruitment failed miserably this season but there's been a lot of bad luck (hitting the woodwork 9 times in the first part of the season), crap decisions from officials, Mooy's injury, Deano's illness (which has clearly impacted) to name but a few. We could have easily have had another 9 or 10 points on the board with this inadequate squad and be right in the mix. I'd rather have gone down fighting than with a whimper like we're going to but I'm not bothered in the slightest that we'll be in the Championship next season. I'm with this guy..... spot on Plus so so many defeats by one goal....

I can’t believe how we have messed this up so badly! We are 1 striker...maybe a decent cb aswell away from a decent Prem side. And we’ve failed. For all the monumental brilliant effort it took to achieve promotion, it’s basically been the same manumental lack of effort on the field to take us back down again. Don’t agree with all the doom and gloom about struggling next year. I really hope the players and staff get the fire back in their bellies next season. We can push to go up next year without a doubt. I miss all the togetherness we all had, I want it back. I dont understand either... Luka Zahovic... Slovenian international. 26 league goals in under a year. Scored 12 games straight at the end of last season and the beginning of this. Oti, is this guy any relation to Zlatko Zahovic? He was a really under-rated player, IMO

I don't know if I can see him going away so soon after recovering from a collarbone fracture, seems like a big risk.

Surprised if that one goes through. I like Sabiri and with such a small squad, especially one so devoid of attack-minded options, I don't see the logic in loaning him out.

I see Chelsea have just been handed a two year transfer ban and a £460k fine. Some of the Football Leaks documents formed part of the case against them... www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47329293

They will just carry on doing what they want, bending and flouting the rules and getting away with it. Stopping them buying in two windows won't prevent them bringing players in on loan and the £460,000 fine is but a drop in the ocean to them. They'll appeal and win anyway. Bet they can't stop laughing.

They will probably lose on appeal but that appeal will delay the ban so they can just sign a load of players in the summer
