Just shows Mounie and Depoitre have had the service this season.

If we had a good striker we’d of been 2/3 up at half time. Some of the crosses from Hadergonads were sublime. Just a shame Depoitre moves like he’s stuck in treacle, awful from him today. Depoitre has been an embarrassment this season. I would pay Genk to take him off our hands right now. He’s been garbage since last Christmas - he scored 1 VERY important goal He ran hard and is a big guy so DATM liked him He was rumoured to want to return to Belgium in the summer - he said this didn’t he? We should have let him If we can bring in 2 striking options he should go For all a lack of goals Mounie’s all round game has come on leaps and bounds this season

I think the problem is not so much Mounie but the fact that the defenders only have him to mark. One can get in front, one next to him, one behind him giving him no room to move and needing David Beckham to cross it on a sixpence for him. If defenders had others to worry about getting in the box then he'd have more space. At Montpellier he was the focal point of a 4-2-3-1 with 2 wingers (Mbenza being one quite often in the second half of the season) and Boudebouz behind him so opposition players had more than just him to worry about. Imo the defenders are irrelevant if the striker doesn't anticipate and or gamble. He NEVER goes front post and if you watch him closely, reacts after the ball is played, therefore rarely gets there. He doesn't have the killer instinct required at this level and unfortunately its as simple as that If you were talking about Depoitre I'd agree but not Mounie, his movement is generally pretty good he just never gets the balls in the right areas so it looks like he doesn't move, I'm not just talking about crosses either. Mounie could go on a run, he does get in positions as he was for the few games before the red he just desperately needs a goal.
