A reasonable send off for Dean. Thanks for the last 10 years and a happy and healthy retirement.

Even Phil Brown on Radio 5 mentioned United were getting well over the majority of the decision. How far off-site was the United player shit liner.

Not coming from Huddersfield or the area, my connection to Huddersfield being only through my parents who are abroad, perhaps I don't 'get' the Dean Hoyle love in. Perhaps I'm looking a bit from the outside in and don't get the emotion surrounding all this.
But I respect what he has done. Just wish this season had turned out different. Anyway, whatever. Next season is a new season, we'll be there or there abouts. I'm pleased we put the nail in Man U's champs league coffin, and the side who plays in the ground I grew up next to won today. I always look out for their results.
Thanks, Dean Hoyle. What a 2 years this has been. What a ride since he took over.
Bring on Luton away!

One of those performances where it reminds us that we do have some bright players going into next season. Bacuna is key.

That was one of the best balls I’ve seen a keeper delivery. Shit ball, Shaw should have easily dealt with it.

Not 1 goal keeper can make a save. Stile Common school keeper would have caught it.

He’s shit, so is Hamer and so is Coleman. Lossl is alright at distribution don’t get me wrong, woeful in most others this season. Tbh two shite defences on display today which was like a comedy at times

Very nice indeed. Lössl goes from zero to hero, Mbenza gets goal of the season (well HIS goal of the season!) and Utd miss out on the Champions League. A few pints will be flowing in Huddersfield tonight, a bit like an Irish wake. An undercurrent of sadness but a good craic all the same. Cheers!

My brother-in-law, big Man U fan from Holmfirth, went with my nephew, whom I’m converting. Went home at half three - cold, Man U terrible... blah. I’m texting him, lots.

Brilliant result. Sloppy and slow in the first half but excellent in the second.
Despite Lossl's error for the first goal (which I suspect being from him being unsighted) he made a couple of excellent saves. Bacuna, although he made a lot of mistakes, was the heartbeat of the team. Pritchard has his moments as well. Grant and Mooy a bit off it today I thought.
Prepared for the flak this opinion is gonna get me but we wouldn't have got anything from this game under Wagner. In the second half I regularly saw a good 5 or 6 town players partaking actively in attacks, loading the box, trying to make chances. I feel like the side we saw second half was representative of what Siewert is trying to achieve. With news this morning that Mbenza is staying on, a great time to get his first goal. More to follow next season I hope, UTT.

Plus it just goes to show that it wasn't completely pointless for us to be playing against the top 6 this season. For me, this was an urgent and very vital point in that it showed we can get results against the most powerful sides on Earth. The goal scored was also vital, not only in historical-numeric terms, but also in that it will give our young squad of next year some belief that they can go forward - even after experiencing profound disappointment - to perform great things. UTT

UTT I agree. It would be great if Town start next season's campaign with a hugely confident, arrogant frame of mind. Thinking,"We've played against some of the best players in the world, now you lot are gonna get trounced!"

On the game.
Awful from Lossl for their goal, no excuses for that at all. Did well after that.
1st half was poor from us. We really stepped it up 2nd half though. Thought Smith did really well at RB to stop the flow down there, and Schindler was superb all game. Good finish from Mbenza as well, but he really needs work doing positionally without the ball. Pritchard had a really good game, but seems to tire early.
Where was this fight earlier in the season?

First half poor, second half a bit better can't help wondering though that we could have won that if we had showed s bit more bravery and attacking nous as the amount of times Man Utd gave the ball away in midfield was criminal.
