whoever it is,it will be my 31st manager since the days of Eddie Boot...Who had the highest % win rate .?. Lee Clark 49% from 177 games...followed by Ian Ross 44% from 71 games and Tom Johnson 43% in 288 games. All three had 3 letters in their first names..so Lee Bowyer it is ?

Bowyer won’t leave charlton or rather London for us. He will have much bigger fish to fry soon & why move from a club he loves in chaos than to another club away from his spiritual home in chaos. Maybe for the money? Maybe for the Challenge? Maybe because he's disillusioned where he is? Who Knows? FWIW I don't think it will be him but if we do appoint him we need to back him. we need to back who ever it is don't we?

If it is Bowyer i think he will sort it out, it will bring publicity and at least be plenty to talk aboutt and maybe some controversy Don't you think it's more important that we just win a few football matches ? Perhaps the central question with Nick might be "does he think"

Charlton fans saying Bowyer won’t come... If he’s been for an interview (no idea how true that is)... then I’d take Charlton fan views with a pinch of salt. I would have thought Charlton wouald have been approached but who knows

Are you sure when you walked down the forum corridor you entered the right door ?

Never sure how to take these public denials. He's not likely to say yes I'm off to a journalist if a deal isn't sorted but then he states in that he's happy where he is 🤷

That's interesting Rochdale.
I always thought Chapman left just before we won the title in 25/26, but it seems Cecil Potter was the Manager for the full 25/26 season.

Bowyer says theres been no contact.... That's deflating. Not because I desperately want Bowyer but because it's another dead end and we appear to be no closer to an announcement. Frustrating.

He’s hardly going to come out and say that He’s been for a interview but they’ve not offered to me yet.. He’s currently contracted to Charlton and doing a good job. Standard media lip service.

Yeah Chapman left in the summer of 25 to Arsenal. Potter had just 1 season in charge, clinching our 3rd title in a row. Bassingham Terrier 's site has some good information about all our managers. Apparently Potter left after causing a stir between Town and Llandudno FC. huddersfieldtowncollection.wordpress.com/the-managers/

That tweet from the writer means nothing as he wouldn't admit anything until the deal is finalised.

Do managers usually talk about agents when deny an approach? Seems rather odd to me that he’d bring his up at all unless he’s spoken to his agent about the Town job.

Forget it nick, it won’t be him! you seem sure melc but like us you have no isea anything is possible I would have bowyer if appointed but we will see You are correct i don't have a clue just like you say. The one thing i do think though is we are still a club that will be appealing to plenty managers out there, even though we are having bad times at the minute. As for the manager as you say we will just have to wait and see, but hopefully it will be a good choice!

We’ve just been in the Prem. we should have a modest amount of money to spend and we arguably have some talented players on our books. It could be a hell of a lot worse

Bowyer hasnt categorically denied and has also said its very flattering. If anything he has thrown his agent under the bus lol The wording he uses just doesn't seem right.
