I feel sorry for his teammates.. It must be soul destroying.. I think he should wear a curly wig and spinning bow tie on Tuesday.. To match the clown boots he usually wears.. 🤡

Not helped by a horrendous back pass, horrendous linesman decision and horrendous fans on his back though. My overriding feeling after that first goal was to feel sorry for him how it came about. Seems that some fans saw it as a good opportunity to knock his confidence even further. First game for 17 months, laughable

I feel sorry for him but he is genuinely out of his depth. We don't half struggle with goalkeepers.

The best (or should that be worst) part of that opening goal was after he completely fluffed his clearance at Mitrovic he stood and admired it briefly before suddenly running back towards his goal. If you ever needed a moment to tell you he just isnt switched on and sharp enough to be a keeper at this level then that was it

There’s no way he should’ve still even been considered this season, he should currently be at a league 1 or 2 team. Shocking management IMO

Shocking management IMO I’m assuming he only played today because Nicholls is isolating. Who is our 3rd keeper, would he have been a better choice today because it was plainly obvious even before ko there was a high chance that what happened would happen. The fans have no confidence in Schofield, I’m guessing the defence don’t have much. That only leaves the management.

Shocking management IMO Not sure how being at a League 1 or 2 club would help him when its even more physical with a lot more teams relying on set pieces and hoofball? Surely it was for the coaches over the summer to work on the weaknesses in his game. Expose him to situations where he struggles and develop him. If he isnt improving then have him as 3rd choice and thats it. I am more concerned about the clowns who have brought in just 1 keeper over the summer, and then starting with only 2 keepers, especially if they know that one of them isnt up to it.

If you ever needed a moment to tell you he just isnt switched on and sharp enough to be a keeper at this level then that was it His hesitancy is his worst trait. Been a problem since that first error away at Watford- he just has that extra half a second of self doubt before he decides a course of action, it gets him in trouble every time and it hasn't been worked on effectively. First goal and the fourth goal were both cases in point. I do really feel for him- he shouldn't be in this position. Some elements of his game are Championship standard, and some are nowhere near while blindingly obvious to other teams, which is never a good combination. Off season should've been time to bulk up, and the first part of this season should've been time for him to work on his decision making and the weak parts of his game. Unfortunately Nicholls getting covid means he's been thrusted into the starting lineup again when it's the last thing he needed really.

He's doing his best. We know his best isn't good enough.
It isn't his fault he's getting put in that position all the time. The blame should go higher than on the poor lad's shoulders.

I had messages from mates who follow Midlands clubs expecting riots. Support can only be stretched so far.

If an army commander sent a load of kids into battle with wooden spoons to fight with you’d really be needing to look at the commander, and his boss. And his boss’s boss

This sums it up. Unfortunately he's not up to it at this level yet and now he may never be as his confidence gets lower and lower. We need another goalkeeper in tomorrow so we don't have to put him back in the firing line again on Tuesday.

"Feel sorry for him" 😂
He earns thousands of pounds every week for not doing his job very well.
So many people in this world I genuinely have a great deal of sympathy with, but a shit "professional" goalkeeper isn't one of them.

I dont feel sorry for him. But I dont think he should be abused. Aim that at Hoyle and Phil for letting a club that was in the Prem three seasons ago get into the position where we have to rely on this standard of player.

To be fair it was a shocking back pass that was way out and what is the width of the pitch! 70 yards and Mitrovic's knee is maybe 4 inch wide. I was chatting to some Fulham fabs after the game who thought defensively we were very poor including he keeper but also said there were very good without really breaking a swet.

But why not just let it go out for a corner. Where did he think he was realistically going to kick it? Awful decision making.

What’s obvious is his best is simply not good enough, what is even more frustrating given the fact that he simply cannot play football but is not a bad shot stopper why do we keep trying to play out from the back why don’t we just hit it long or to the wings if he is in goal. The manager should adapt the style if he is in goal so in my opinion he is just as much at fault as Schofield.
