We had a proper no.10 lined up but in typical town fashion we moved too slowly & Millwall came in, they'll probably quadruple their money for him in January aswell. I think we do have a number 10 in Sorba. I think a freer role would suit his particular talents and weaknesses. I like him a lot better recieving or challenging for the ball further away from our goal and nearer theirs.. I think being able to go wide or narrow with the striker would suit him better and us because we need any and every outball we can get rather than a punt to one bloke or 2 or 3 short passes on the edge of our box which frighten the bejesus out of me. 8 defenders most of the time or 9 at set pieces with sorba up the pitch looks better to me. He can’t really dribble and his weight of pass isn’t great. He’s not a number 10 for me. Agree we’re not using his pace enough but he’s much better where he’s currently deployed imo. Tino or Diarra need to be our no.10 for the rest of the season.

I disagree, Sorba is definitely a winger. I don't think he has any real attributes that would make him an effective no.10.

Yep. Tino, Diarra, Holmes & Rudi would all make better 10s than Sorba.

If he plays as a winger we have to have a full back behind him, if he plays as a wing back we lose a lot of his wide play and a defender. Because a lot of the time he is neither.

Is he still with the squad? Strong rumour he scored 5 goals in a practice match and deemed surplus to requirements by Bromby as he would not fit in! On a serious note he can’t hit a barn door so more than likely he will get a three year contract.

Confirmed to be signing in January, nothing official from the club but MF mentioned it in the presser

To quote Fotheringham "he exploded at Hibs".
If one goal in every five games is classed as exploding, then the bar must be set really low.

It's a regular goalscorer we need, and this bloke has never been one. Regular? here are the players with either 8 or 9 goals this season in the Championship, that's still less than 1 every other game. Mcburnie Rodriguez Sargent Gyokeres Ndiaye Hogan Brereton Yates Akpom Estupinan Morris Do you think we are likely to sign any of those in January, and even if we did, do you think we could give them the service to actually score? They would likely have scored half that number if they played for Town which only puts them 1 or 2 goals ahead of Rhodes and Ward.

We might as well give up then and sign any old crap, which it appears we're doing looking at this bloke's record.

Fozzy : "I knew him at Karlsruher" - presumably Fozzy was watching when he scored his one goal for them.

Any ambition has just completely disappeared this season.
Why bother? Just play the kids if we are so short of brass. No point throwing someone in who can’t even hack it a level down.

He's a big target man with experience at a decent level. We currently have two lightweight strikers and a very promising one who's still recovering from injury. This bloke hasn't got a particularly poor scoring record for a player who's best asset up front is presumably his heading and being a bit of a nuisance. MMF already knows him and what he brings to the table. I'm not entirely opposed to this - particularly as we don't seem to have a penny to spend.

Strong indication in Fozzy's latest interview that Rhodes will be leaving. He's publicly said he's not scored enough.
Look at Rhodes' career scoring record and EVEN recently and look at the wages he'll be on. Then look at Kamberi's appalling recent, and career, scoring record and the wages he'll obviously be coming on.
Then look at a team preparing for relegation.

According to the Examiner bloke who's seen him play quite a bit at the Wendies, heading is not one of his attributes. He sounds like a bit of a Collin Quanner in that respect

He reckons he’ll be playing and fir for the FA cup game against Preston. He was in all his town gear at the Watford game.
