A Town legend who scored some absolute crackers (Stoke, Bradford, Carlisle to name 3).
He arsed this chance in the final clip up though…

Stoke at home. What a goal.
Also didn't he score the first ever golden goal. Think he did

Yes he did bag the first golden goal That was a midweek cup match. I went with my dad. From memory, we were a goal down in the last minutes so he said ‘let’s go and beat the traffic’. Heard the roar of the equaliser from somewhere by B&Q. Heard the golden goal go in on the radio on the car. Cheers dad.

Off Wiki… Dunn was the first player in British football to score a golden goal. He achieved this feat in the Football League Trophy for Huddersfield Town versus Lincoln City on 30 November 1994. Huddersfield won 3–2 in extra time. Dunn was later presented with a commemorative trophy

We could see folk on the bridge towards B&Q suddenly turn round and run back to the ground after we scored.

Cracking read, that. I really enjoyed it. Thank-you. I really struggled to fit everything into those four pages, and there was a hell of a lot that had to be left out, sadly. I think that sums up just how much of a legend Iain Dunn is at Huddersfield Town, those five years at the club and perhaps deserving of way more than four pages!

Definitely a cult hero and legend.
Was a bit worried when I saw this thread though, after the Marcus Stewart news.

The last time I ever left the ground before the final whistle (til this season obviously). I'd have stayed but my uncle (my lift home) said sod this we're off. Got home and checked teletext only to see we'd not only pulled two goals back but scored a golden goal and we'd missed a bit of Town history Uncle wouldn't believe me at first, vowed never to leave early again, but have broken that vow twice this season. And not even because of my lift these times www.betdaqtips.com/lifting-the-lid-remembering-britains-first-ever-golden-goal/

My favourite Ian Dunn match was away at Brentford last game of 93/94. Bad tempered game and I think he scored two (including a brilliant lob) to complete a come-from-behind win.

Great vids ! - There would have been clubs and players the length and breadth of Britain wanting to be the first team and first scorer of The Golden Goal guess who got it and what club got it - This to me is just another important part of our history (if you’re reading Kevin) ! 😉 A sort of historical quirk just like HTAFC were the first English team to score direct from a corner kick...
I don’t need to think too much about my concluding paragraph -
(Simply put)... Ian Dunn Superb For Huddersfield Town ! 👍

Was also at that game, memorable for a mass brawl. Last man up was Richard Logan with his shirt in shreds. A typical Warnock game where they were all fired up for a meaningless end of season match. Hopefully he’ll get this squad equally as fired up for the run in.
