From this thread... "If it rose to £400 I'd be happy" "Cant quite see why HTFC should be continually offering their support discounted season cards when virtually all our competitors dont?" "£300 would be fair" "So its hardly money grabbing....charging £350...And £350 is still well below the going rate. It would be in league 2, never mind the championship. It's unrealistic IMO to think £300 across the board is 'more than enough' for the fans contribution" "I think £249 is too cheap" "the basic season ticket needs to increase in some way" "The club can't keep subsidising this...249 is not the norm. Its the exception. I understand many can't afford, however if you are demanding prices stay the same or a miniscule increase due to your principles then your principles need to be addressed as we are going to end up being left behind as a result....a season ticket in one of the best leagues in the world should be worth more than £250" "I think £350 would be a fair price." And? That's not demanding an increase, its a realism and acceptance that what we pay IS below the going rate and that it won't last forever. Or is that football is actually over priced anyway?

Club will do what the club will do. If they are accepting of the fact that by pushing prices up, a lot will drop off and not renew then crack on. But don’t cry about the obvious once it then happens.

I find it odd that the club (Dave, and by extension, Kev) clearly know the value in 'packing out the JSS', and want to do that, yet will likely be prepared to put prices up (probably in a lower division) and undoubtedly reduce attendances significantly for years to come. Really can't work out their strategy.

Does anyone know when season ticket prices were released last year? Feels like we are much later than usual in releasing prices.
It makes me think that they are waiting to see if we are going to stay up which means that they are definitely raising/changing prices. If they weren’t or were raising a small amount then it wouldn’t matter which division we are in.

I can’t believe how many times i hear what we are watching is “rubbish”. I honestly don’t think it is. I’ve not missed many games this season and struggling to remember many where we were not in the game and outclassed. Obviously the results are bad, we’re going down but it’s nothing like the Premier League relegation where attending was actually a waste of time. Anyone who thinks the last few seasons have been awful entertainment /quality either haven’t supported us very long or have very short memories. I remember the days we could only dream of being in a Second Division relegation battle. The days of Maskell, Cecere, Bent were sooooooo boring and most seasons ended in February. We drew Notts Forest in the League Cup and were wanking ourselves off that we took them to extra time and playing Southend in the FA was a big deal and the highlight of the season. Give over. Under Warnock, I was back on board. Under Moore, I was doing 2 out of 3 games and those I did attend, you had to drag me out the pub at 2.40pm. I’m turning up out of loyalty presently. Least when Maskell played for us, we had a 20+ goal striker a season so you were near guaranteed to see us score. It’s quite simple for me. Stay up, I’ll renew and swallow an increase of £50, £100 and I’ll have to think about it. We go down and I won’t be renewing whatever. We may have been largely terrible this season but at least there’s been some decent football played by opposition teams. There aren’t many teams in League 1 I’d pay to watch us play. Besides which, maybe I just need a temporary break after all the recent “great escapes”, time to reset perhaps. Take in the odd game up til Christmas and if we’re in the mix, possibly get a half year season card. Plenty round by me are of the same opinion. The team have 3 games left to do something about it, ball is in their court now. I get you but what you’re saying feels like a bit of a contradiction. You enjoyed watching meaningless games with Simon Trevitt playing but you can’t bring yourself to watch crappy league one football next season? I agree with that bit, it is crap and i don’t want to watch it. Just like i didn’t back then.

We cant really moan can we, mind you some would moan if they were free. People won’t moan, they just won’t go. Big difference I'd say stopping going is the ultimate moan that cant be topped.

Heard a rumour that the club intend to turn over the entire south stand to away supporters again. They hope to generate more income from large away followings.

And? That's not demanding an increase, its a realism and acceptance that what we pay IS below the going rate and that it won't last forever. Or is that football is actually over priced anyway? Football is overpriced (blame the wages of the players for that, if every player got paid 50% less and agents fees were also dramatically reduced) then ticket prices might come down. However the fact of the matter is we can't keep our prices the same forever while other clubs charge more, spend more on wages on better players, etc. It's like some fans expect the price to never ever go up. That’s NEVER going to happen. Yeah I'd love the price to stay the same, or to drop, but that's not going to happen. The problem is fans are so used to cheap prices, that it means that ANY increase (heck, weren't prices cheaper this season than last season?) means they cry and scream and whinge and say "oh but if the price goes up at all I won't go because I refuse to accept a price increase of any description, it isn't acceptable regardless of what division we're in" etc.

Barnsley season tickets start at $415 to over £500. Morecambe are doing an early bird Adult Season Ticket for £199. As seems likely Town will be in a lower league it will be interesting to see how the club reach a price for theirs. A significant price hike could see Town going back to the days of 9,000 diehards. I think the days of the cheap ticket could be over. 🇺🇸 We cant really moan can we, mind you some would moan if they were free. All down to choice really 👍

If we go down then we'll almost certainly be watching a lot more winning football next season. I thought that was what these fans wanted, so surely they'll all be there and willing to pay a little more to watch us win regularly?

Not sure anyone in L1 would even sell out half the end next season. I suppose Barnsley and Wednesday. Not a lot else looking at the league (which makes for depressing reading). I can get onboard with the Charlton and Orient away days though.

That was when many probably realised competing in the bottom half of the championship wasnt the 'shit show' they thought it was.

They took 2,240 to Doncaster. I would say we are a bigger draw than them. So I reckon they would sell half of the away end (South stand).

It’s a shame we can’t have a one season loan to mid table Division 3 and then be allowed back in the Championship. Just to see see how absolutely dog shit boring it is. Remember why Dean Hoyle took over? He looked round the stadium at the end of yet another meaningless game and realised no one gave a shit. Folk were attending out of habit to watch poor football teams. If someone offered me Championship football for the rest of my days i’d absolutely snap your hand off regardless of how much it cost.
