Our first trip to Wembley in 56 years.
Edit: and 6 days later, the last match at Leeds Road.

Still got me flat cap… Sadly, the 2 people I travelled with are no longer with us… ❤️ That is sad. My four travelling companions had an average age of 9. The youngest, 5, thought that the pre-match kickabout, starring Kevin Webster and Chris Evans, was the match itself. We went to Wembley via the HRI where his little brother was born that morning. By remarkable coincidence, my grandson was born in Australia on the morning of Schindler Day (and we lost to Forest on his 5th birthday). When we were 3-1 down on penalties, I saw history repeating itself - it did anyway, of course, and happily not in the way I was thinking.

I don't really remember much about either day to be honest, not because I was trollied or owt, just the passing of time.

I remember being so excited & thinking this might be the only time I'd get to see us at Wembley that I bought the most expensive Olympic gallery tickets, age may be playing a part here but I think they cost £32!

I was in the lower tier - and the seats were more benches than proper seats. I remember queuing up for tickets around the Open End car park on the morning they went on sale. Must have been a Saturday. Can't remember much from Wembley other than it was a poor game that we lost on penalties to a team from the division below

Yes, they were in our division, we played them at home that season on a freezing February night in front of a vast crowd of 3000. Over 30000 managed to make it to Wembley.

Gosh yeah, I remember the queuing to get our tickets… right around the ground! Great day, on the coach with my dad, who had caved in several years before to take me to my first Town game. It’s days like those that keep you going through the down times. Let’s hope we can rebuild the spirit within our club and get back on an upward trajectory.

It was decent weather though at least (for standing in the open end car park for hours). Someone started rumours that we'd sold out by lunchtime (just to the people in front of us in the queue). Which with the benefit of hindsight now sounds ridiculous.

Still got me flat cap… Sadly, the 2 people I travelled with are no longer with us… ❤️ Just me and my Dad at this one, I lost him 4 years ago and this game is always one that I remember so fondly when I think about him. I must have just started cutting onions for a second actually. I remember this one vividly. Coaches from Leeds Road, City Slickers VHS on the way down. Wembley way. Dad looking for an offie as too tight to pay for a beer inside (something I did myself in 2012 and 2017!!!). The celebrity match with Chris Evans, the roar when the teams came out and for Logans goal. Then not really caring at all about the result. Amazing day. One of the reasons I'm not gonna get snobby about the Pizza cup next season. It was good enough for me in 1994. It'll be good enough in 2024.

Went with my wife and two young children think my young daughter slept through most of it,my son got it in his blood that day like I did from my dad and as suffered the ups and downs with me ever since. Remember parking at Watford station got train into London the great atmosphere amongst Town fans and amazing atmosphere at the old Wembley. Remember all the town coaches on the drive down. Was back again the following year to see us promoted thanks to Boothy and Chris Billy. It's days like these keep you going as I was supporting Town through the awful mid 70s. Our time will come again. Great memories of those two Wembley trips with my family

My Dad often brings up how he and his mates went and queued for hours on the first day to get their tickets and then about four days later, my Mum walked down to the ticket office and bought one straight away

I remember it well. I worked up canal street at the time which was at the side of what was rickys bar, about 6 of us who worked there were going so we went in shifts to queue. I remember getting to Leeds rd on the day to get on the coach to be grabbed by a guy i didn't really know but had stood next to him a few times on the east terrace, he asked me to be a steward on the coach so got my money back(always been a bit of an ar ar arkwright). It was such a great day, town were at wembley, the old and much better wembley, for a 19 year old me who had only known division 4 and division 3 and the dissapointment of the 92 peterboro play off semmi it was amazing seeing all the flags going down the M1. It was still a great day despite the result and Tommy Cowan's dreadful penalty.....and 12 months later we were back there for an even better day, which I nearly missed the coach for as i slept through my alarm

Queuing added to the giddiness for me at that time.

Great planning huh? The supporters club were running a bus but the club itself weren't so I guess it didn't matter to them as much. We went in a minibus to Bournemouth and stayed over so my mum went down in her lunch hour to queue for tickets for the 8 of us on our way to the south coast. Not sure she even got back to work that afternoon 😂

Prior to getting to Wembley we had that tense tense night at Brunton Park where we were absolutely battered and we were convinced the dream would be snuffed out. 11 minutes of stoppage time was almost unheard of at the time and was absolute purgatory.

Rebecca Welch would have had plenty of time to award a penalty… 😉

If social media has existed Warnock would've been sacked before Wembley Town were dreadful and quickly losing supporters as you say only 3k that night .. Autoglass brought the families out

The home leg was decent though, I remember going onto the pitch after one of our goals!

Steve Chicken and David Hartrick said a few of interesting things on this week's We are Terriers podcast.
1. Apart from a couple of miraculous seasons, this club has let down two generations of supporters.
2. When signing players in the last decade, we've signed players to fight fires... never to look at the medium term and a style of play (I disagree with this in some respect with regard to Wagner's first summer window).
3. SC thinks that many of these players will be gone this summer regardless of what division we are in.
