I’ve seen many relegations, starting with my first season in 87/88.
What I’ve never seen is a club shoot them selves in the foot so many times that it led to their demise.
Relegation wasn’t even on my mind over the summer. We had a new owner promising the moon on a stick, a good manager, plenty of room to improve the squad and a fan base ready to fully back the club.
To make SO MANY ridiculous decisions in 9 months is barely believable!
I’ve never known a larger divide between the promises and ambitions of a board and what has actually been delivered. It would be hilarious if it was happening at any other club.
This season must be the most calamitous in our history. Every wound was self inflicted.

There was a feel good factor at the end of last season on the back of that escape. Evaporated with the complete nightmare of a transfer window and never got better. Completely deserve what we have got after the most amateurish season I've seen in 42 of em.

Last season was papering over the huge cracks that had(baring the play off season)been there since coming out of the premier league. The lessons were not learned and this seasons those same cracks opened up again and were too wide to fix

Agreed, truly the most deserving of relegations. No excuses, no mitigating circumstances, no bemoaning the gods of football for the unlucky hand we were dealt, we outright feckin deserve it. I'm not even angry. There is nothing to be angry about. We asked for it, did everything we could to ensure its inevitability, and we got it, simple. Every hole we found ourselves in, we dug it. We deserved to go down last season too, and would have if not for Warnock's miracle, but did we learn anything at all from this experience? Did we fook.

Trouble is, if we don't get it right for next season we could very easily end up in league 2. I started watching Town in 1966 when i was an 8 yr old and those of us who are old enough to remember, we watched some atrocious football in the mid to late 70's until Mick Buxton came along and it's been patchy right up to the present day.
