Please explain why he is constantly played at full back now? He is definitely not suited to the position, shown again today? How did he achieve Man of the Match

Must be giving a 'bung to someone for the MOTM. Absolute crap today imo.

Yeah as soon as that was announced he pulled his shirt over his face. He knew he hadnt performed.

He knew he was going to be booed! Even though it was perhaps more the booing of the decision, rather than him as an individual. I hope not, wonder how many of the boo-ers would like to be booed at work themselves when they have a bad day!
Is Holdsworth the answer? People say he hasn't been playing well in the reserves. Still, that's for Stan to decide on Tuesday.
Unfortunately at least I got one prediction right - that after a good performance last Saturday they'd be crap today.

Holdsworths confidence is probably gone as he was dropped for a couple of average performances which seem to be the accepted norm for a lot of the other players.

You could actually tell that Goodwin was angry at his mistakes.... every time he let a pass go stray (quite often in the last 20) he fell to the floor and started beating the ground with his fist. Surprised Stan didn't mention anything about it in his post-match interview, after slamming Cads against Leicester for his mistake which lead to their second

I was going to make the same analogy Marshian! Can you imagine making a mistake at work in the office, and everyone gathers round and hurls abuse at you for it As for Man of the Match, I think his mum must have been the sponsor. Bad game, yes, but let's not write him off yet because his others have been positive.

This time yesterday he was the best right bcak since malcolm brown!
as I said then....
"Goodwin - own goal v northampton, lost his man against northampton for 2nd goal, gave away penalty v leicester, lost his man for penalty v swindon.
4 games, 4 big mistakes. Agree he has looked decent in positional terms, on the ball and has done a job, but ultimately, he's made 4 big errors in 4 games at right back. Wouldn't say he was getting beter and better unless you class one mistake in a game as a vast improvement on two! But he's doing a job.
Thats said, i completely agree holdsworth had a shocker against tranmere, but he should never have been at right back in the first place. Neither should goodwin but we should have signed a right back who is a right back in the summer"
And I stand by that - today his man got behind him in our box twice only to be denied by glennon once and wasting another chance. He also came for a header and miscued it to land us in trouble. Thankfully, these didn't lead to goals but its 6/7 big mistakes now in the wrong area.
However, he shpuldn't have received the boos he did today - the whole lot were poor in the final 70 minutes (one or two such as flynn aside) after an excellent start.
And as I've said before, goodwin having to play at right back, flynn having to move out wide to accomodate a 442 etc is ultimately the evidence of stan's afilure to address the imbalances in the squad. No right back, 1 winger, 7 central midfielders and 3 left backs. Too many square pegs in round holes - purely stan's fault.

Goodwin played well the last two games, and that justified his inclusion. But was awful today and Holdsworth should definitely play Tuesday night. To be fair to the lad he knew he was having a shocker.

i'm certainly not a goodwin hater, but motm today was a joke - i hear he looked embarressed after the anouncement - probably should've been glennon, imo.

To be fair to the lad he knew he was having a shocker. Exactly, he put his shirt over his head when it was announced. Every footballer out there has an absolute shocker sometimes. Felt really sorry for the guy today, with the stick he was getting, especially from home fans when he was taking throw-ins. Getting on the guys back, helps absolutely nobody.

Time they changed the MOM decision makers because they have come up with some weird choices. But honestly, who could have been MOM today?
Flynn for his goal, Glennon for keeping a few Brizzle shots out? Clarke & Butler were ok, but nowt special.

Playing Goodwin at fullback will cause us to concede silly goals. I personally wouldn't have picked him in any match so far.

Imo Goodwin had a bad day but to be boo'ed so badly won't giv him confidence and our players need confidence. Holdsworth will hopefully get a run out on tuesday night and he has been doing fine in the reserves Imo he is a decent player

goodwins been great at right back in the last 2 games but today he had a shocker. Nothing he tried came off and he was caught out of position on a few occasions. The funny thing no ones mnetioning is how equally bad joe skarz was on the other flank. At fault for the first goal and then got skinned again 5 mins later and we were lucky not to concede! Ooh we dont like to boo our own though do we?
Id personally dont have any real preference between ah and jg at right back for tuesday and hope we can bring in a specialist right back in january....

do they get booed so much at away games? No. The away support has been pretty vocally behind the team so far this season (bar Cheltenham first half)

I thought Young Joe Skarz had quite a decent game today.... he seems to become better and more confident after every game, don't you think?
