So we're expecting champagne football on beer money, I wonder what Dean Hoyle thinks of that comment. I'm sorry but I don't expect champagne football every week It would be reasonable IMO to expect with the money the board have invested to create some chances at home, have realised what formation we are going to play, have a reasonably settled 1st 11, more than one home win by the middle of october. The man is a patronising and very arrogant little man whose footballing ethos is stuck in the dark ages, were going absoloutely nowhere with this clown in charge.

Just playing some decent football into feet and ON THE DECK would be ok for me at the moment. The amount of times the ball is hoofed into the air with no direction or aim on it was countless today.
Come on Stan sort it out or do one!

i agree mate i wonder what mr hoyle thinks of that comment too. I picked up on it in the send him back thread. I liked stan but his post match comments today havent won him many friends and if i were in charge of the club i would be making sure that the players got their beer money this week because i would give the minnimum wage this week and tell them that they take it voluntary or will be up for transfer.

It's just totally indicative of his arrogant attitude. The man doesn't give a toss for this club or it's supporters. Anyone who's pleased with his tenure up to press is seriously deluding themselves, how the hell we ended up with this guy is still a complete mystery to me. We should have gone for the likes of Ian Holloway,Martin Allen or approached someone Nigel Adkins. It's embarrasing to see and hear this undignified senile old fool in charge of our team, and whilst Jepson was one of my town heroes I really don't see what he brings to the table.

If I wanted to buy beer it wouldn't be a pint of Ternent - large head, very bitter and no real results after drinking ten.

personally i'm glad we didnt get Dickinson on a season long loan. To me we play to him the same we do with Boothy in the team, only he cant head a ball or hold it up very well. Infact I really dont get his game. He spends mote time backing into players and giving free kicks away instead of try to actually getting hold of the ball and getting on with the game.

Just a bit of a "off the cuff comment" I think.
Dont think he meant anything by it apart from some fans thinking we should be playing like Man Utd when in reality we dont have the players to do so.

'Some fans thinking we should be playing like Man Utd'
Jeez, how many more comments are we going to get like that one here.
Nobody expects us to do that, OR win all our games at home although a few teams in our division are making a good shot at doing that, but for heavens sake we are entitled to think we have a team good enough to win more than one home game.
They can manage it away from home FFS

Bet almost all the other managers in League 1 would p*ss themselves at his claim of only having beer money.

Another quote from Stan that p1553d me off was "Im quite happy with a point in light of everything"
Well you the only bloke that is happy with a point at home to a mediocre team who came to scrap for a draw you Duffer

the champagne and beer quote made me chuckle on the way home on an otherwise disapointing home town match again!!!

surely Deano will take issue with a stupid comment like that when he is working his bollocks off and putting his money in to try and get the club in with a promotion shout !! Turnip seems like he doesnt give a f::: what he says or does, a bit like a child ??

Annoying old man syndrome?
Could be. Although if Rocket Ron's waistline gets any bigger there wont be enough room for him to stand in the technical area without getting a warning from the fourth offical for overlapping it.
