What was with the stewarding today, in particular the female on the steps in Antich couple of blocks away from South Stand?
The game had totally died as a spectacle, and an inflatable was being bounced around the crowd which was providing a bit of cheer and a very positive atmosphere was being generated, which felt like it would have really built as things carried on.
But then the ball came near a steward, she put the ball on the floor, a fella came up, sneaked behind her and threw it back in the air again, and she totally got the hump from then on, steaming her face off as the ball bounced around and giving some right ear ache to the chap who had thrown the ball from behind her, she looked to totally lose control, and obviously had lost any kind of respect and wasn't able to steward effectively from then on.
At least the steward on the pitch had the grace to show a bit of embarrassment when she stuffed the ball into the ad hoarding with a "I've been told to but I don't really want to" look about her.
Embarassing. This is a football match not the ballet.
Can't wait to watch the 'Ultras' get spanked by the stewards at the Yeovil game for waving their scarves around and throwing inflatables about.

That was the only entertainment we got apart from Flyn's goal - watching the antics with the ball from the other side of the Antich!

It shows how dire the game was on the pitch when these issues take centre stage!

All I said when she took the ball away was "miserable b****rd", funnily enough no one disagreed.
No need to stop people knocking a ball about. I bet she wouldn't have grabbed a johnny balloon!

i sit in the area right next to that steward. She was holding her finger to her ear to listen to an ear piece. seems she was getting instructions from someone elsewhere.

That was a joke, everyone was having a laugh and the atmosphere was starting to grow despite what was happeneing on the field, BUT yet again the stewarding staff did a fantastic job of making the saturday as boring and lifeless as possible. Great.

I think we know who is responsible. Who is actually responsible for him still being in a job, he's quite clearly not got the ability to carry it out effectively.

Amazing in the DG Lower down in the concourse how many folk are smoking at h/t. No one to police it though.

She was quite right to confiscate that ball.
Imagine if that ball had hit someone in the face and caused severe imprint on said face? They could have been scared for life and had to live with those consequences.
Evil things inflatable footballs.

Might have improved some folks looks. They'd have had to hit it hard to reach you though.

Also don't take a flag to games now unless it has a 'safety certificate.'

Why?
|
|
|
Post by marshterrier on Oct 18, 2008 19:46:34 GMT 1
The flag is a 'fire risk' as someone with a lighter could set it on fire as it's being passed overhead.
I really wish I was making that up as well, this country today...

After game they then ripped a season ticket up.. FOR NOTHING.
Its getting beyond a joke now. The coppers said its the FA's fault if the clubs arent strict theyl get fined by the FA.
But then as someone said straight away, Next week at peterborough we'l be standing up its al a piss take in my eyes.
I just think ther has to be a HUGE Protest & The FA will eventually sort things out.

That balloon could have been filled with dangerous hydrogen, or worse still someone's bad breath - Nasty, if it were to burst.
