I can't believe we played this system today against a middleing away team. Roberts and Jones were too far away from Dickinson for it to be effective, and the tactic of Dickinson heading it onto a midfield runner didn't work all game, so why did it take Stan 67 minutes to change it ?
How many shots on target in the game from Town ? One ?
It's not rocket (ron) science to me, so why is it bleeding hidden from Stan. And as for his after the match interview when he said it was a fair point....FAIR POINT?? WE WERE DAMN LUCKY.
Stick to 442 at home Stan.
PS - And play Holdsworth at RB for gods sake.

They had so many men behind the ball I don't think it would have mattered too much what tactics we played. We just needed that bit of spark as well as Flynn's goal, and we didn't have it all game.

We played 442 for a good 30 minutes today as well though and looked more inept than when playing 433.
Stan even unleashed the "lethal goal threat" of Parker just like people have been demanding - and nothing.
Its just one of those days. Be happy we got a point and look forward to the next challenge.

anyone notice that this season Stan's had the pitch narrowed? last season under Ritchie the touchline was pretty near the edge of the turf, but now it's almost 6 foot in!

Are you being serious? We were crap playing 4-4-2! First half we played 4-3-3/4-5-1 and did well for 25mins and werent that bad for the rest of the half. Second half he changed it to 4-4-2 and we were sh*te. Were you at the some game

We were crap playing both systems today
Think we should revert to 4-4-2 when Yeovil come here - one win in six at home - we need to change something around...

The 433 worked well with both Roberts and Jones taking the game to them. Goals change games though and theirs came at a terrible time for us (again). After that they were the best team but we held out for a point. This is the nature of the game we love unfortunatley.

Yeovil now 2nd from bottom. If we can't beat them at home we really are going nowhere.
But hang on, someone will get a hat trick for them won't he?

We weren't playing 4-5-1 or 4-3-3, we played 4-2-3-1, with Craney, Roberts and Jones all supporting Dickinson. This is exactly how we played to good effect against Swindon. Unfortunately today, Dicko was shite, and Roberts and Jones didn't get behind their markers, if you have enough players having an off day no formation is going to work

I dont think the formation can be blamed really - people not doing their jobs will lead to failure whatever the formation.
We had enough quality on the pitch to win with any formation
