Most teams which visit the Galpharm appear to have a five minute window of opportunity for scoring. Five minutes before half time, five minutes after half time and five minutes before full time. This total fifteen minutes during the game we seem to be at our most vulnerable. Most home games we simply cannot defend these times.
Against Bristol we looked as if we could (first half) easily get the three points. Second half of the game we looked as if a draw would would be the best thing we could achieve. In all fairness to Bristol I think they should have shaved the game.
When are we going to get rid of the long high ball. When the ball was played on the ground we looked like a football team. With the introduction of our new manager and the number of players that he brought to the club in the first few weeks of his reign my hopes we're high for automatic promotion. After watching these players that Stan has introduced to our team my thoughts are that most of them do not have the pace or the quickness of thought to get us out of this division. When we have the ball our reaction to going forward is too slow. When we should be playing the ball to feet we play a long meaningless ball forward and the opposite when we have our backs to the wall.
My overall thoughts of the season so far are that promotion is not going to happen for us, we will remain a mid-table club. Our chances of promotion will not change until we have a more youthful team with some ability. I am not talking about the likes of Premiership class, I am talking about players such as Bristol Rovers, Scunthorpe and L@@ds have in their squads. I just think we are little too old and slow in thinking and reacting.

When we take the lead we just cannot get that 2nd goal to kill off the oppostion - Jones had a good chance with that header in first half as an example
I think that 2nd goal is needed to calm the fans as much as it is to calm the team.
At times we only seem to possess any urgency when we are 2 down and its been like that for a good few seasons now.

I agree, one is goal is ot enough for us we cannot hold onto a one goal lead. Jones was a little unlucky in that he has not played a lot of first team games and is not up to the pace at the moment. His time will come.
