Stan's connections within the game was supposed to be one of his plus points in getting the job, time to put it into use sharpish!

If we were to get a manu-youngster, don't you think we would have gotten him already. Connections within the game my arse. Connections to lancashire is the only thing we've seen so far. But only the small clubs.

Ternent spend a few years out of the game before working in the prem briefly with derby. With the way managers come and go Id have thought most of his 'contacts' are long since out of the game now. For example how many of his teammates from Burnley and carlisle in the 60s and 70s are still involved in the game? How many of his former players are now managers? And how many of the managers he used to deal with when he was at Bury and Burnley are still managing now? I don't think being involved in the game for 40 odd years necessarily translates into having a lot of usefull contacts.

not the finished product by a long way, poor on saturday but will probably score tomorrow night, looks very awkward but has a decent finish. Our biggest problem at moment is getting a consistent strikeforce, cant complain at midfield with flynny and craney scoring.....

Was gonna say, hasn't he been playing a few of them so far this season? ;D Nah they're a good set of signings IMO. Its just the tactics that are wrong at the minute.

Again we have a player at the club, (the Legend) who should be able to give Dickenson some ideas. Dicko is not good at being the front man for balls in the air with a hairy centre half breathing down his neck. I f we have to play it in the air, Dicko should come short (like Andy) and should have a number of options available, e.g. Flynn, Craney, Jones, Roberts or Worthy. Flynn and or Craney should be further upfield, Roberts or Jones either side and Worthy coming forward from his central covering role. The drection chosen will depend on the pace and height of the defensive clearance. I have to be honest, I believe Glennon's kicking on Saturday was affected by the (fluke?) goal the previous week.

He had improved over the previous few games up to saturday, but I thought he was woefull against bristol. Before the game I thought hed fill his boots a bit with both bristols first choice centre backs missing, but as it was they had him in their pocket and he couldn't do anything right. Thats disappointing but easy to accept- every player is going to have the odd off day. What really p*sses me off is that when he realised he was off his game his bottom lip quickly came out and the only effort he was putting in was with all the whinging he was giving the ref. He stopped jumping for headers, stopped making runs, stopped closing down. It was almost as halfhearted as his performance at Cheltenham. Id have subbed him soon after half time.

Im with moaner on this. His four goals have covered up some shocking performances imo. I havent seen a near 1million pound striker with as little ability on the ball as dickinson. It looks like he isnt in control of his feet most of the time
