OK, this is my first post on here and I can see the over-riding issues are the team's performance and the fans.
Which made me think, is it the team's responsibility to lift the fans or the fans responsibility to lift the team? Or a bit of both?
Take Newcastle - rubbish team performances, good fans. Man Utd - good team performances, rubbish fans.
I can't understand the booing, that's just pointless but the team don't exactly do anything to inspire the fans. I don't think Stan helps with his choices throughout the game either, taking off Worthy on Saturday and replacing with Collins is hardly inspirational in my opinion. We needed a change, not just a like for like.

I think they were booing the ref, not their own players. They actually got behind their team because they could see that their players were bothered.
When town are battering a team, it lifts the crowd and gets everyone going. The first 10 minutes on Saturday is a perfect example of this. Unfortunately you can't play well for 10 minutes and expect to win a game. For the remaining 80 minutes, as I'm sure has been discussed on here so I won't go into it, town were pretty dire and the atmosphere was flat.

Newcastle fans are some of the worst in the country. Totally unrealistic expectations and how many chairmen/managers have they forced out? Also if you have ever been to st james's park you will have heard how quiet 50K people can be!
Before you ask I know a lot and have lived there!

Still wish I was in hartlepool though To be fair i've seen Man Utd at home 4 or 5 times, and it's always been a quality atmosphere ;D Top ground too, but hearing away fans chant about them all being from London does bring a smile to my face
