Anyone who booed Goodwin today, you are pathetic.
I'm not gunna say you're scum, or not a Town fan etc...
But you know if you booed him, and it was disgusting quite frankly.
I don't like him, he offers us nothing and I didn't clap him, but to BOO him...bang out of order.

He offers more than Worthington does at the moment - at least Goodwin can tackle properly and pass a ball.

I thought fans were booing because Worthy was subbed again. The booing started well before Goodwin stepped onto the pitch. I know Worthy's passing was abysmal, but Craney, Flynn, Clarke, Butler and Williams to mention a few all get away with it don't they? Craney played some awful passes today ut they seem to go unnoticed! Worthy is a ball winner, he wants the ball all the time and shows for it again and again. He played some good passes today, one early in the first half through to Parker especially but again these go unnoticed. His passing (and shooting) is probably whats kept him at this level but thats not what Jon Worthington is about and a lot of people fail to see just what he adds to the teams performance. Never man of the match though

There wasn't even a man within 20 yards of where he played it and yet its always Worthy's bad passes that get picked upon. Infact they were all poor passes of the ball today. Hoof, hoof and more hoof but no, its only Jon Worthington that can't pass isn't it?

I agree with you that others in the team are poor with the ball at their feet, particularly Butler. I was only highlighting Worthington because in my view Goodwin should be given a chance in the holding midfield role ahead of him. At least next week Goodwin will get that chance.
In fairness to Flynn, he had some really good games when playing in his preferred position and as soon as he gets shoved out wide, surprise surprise he struggles again.

Look at our league position mate, i think theres a few more that aren't good enough! You really think Goodwin is this great passer of the ball we're looking for then

You really think Goodwin is this great passer of the ball we're looking for then I don't think the players we have are all that bad - many of the teams that have been promoted in recent seasons didn't have fantastic individual players they were just very well orgainsed with young managers that were tactically sound - look at Colchester, Southend, Scunthorpe etc. To get out of this league you need to be well organised, have a good team spirit and have a quick striker that will score goals. Sadly at present we don't seem to have any of these.

Booing because Worthy was subbed?! I'm lost for words....He was terrible today. He was terrible in terms of his passing but he still always showed for the ball, still broke up play and still ran his socks off whilst others around him were happy to stand still and wait for the next hoof. They were all terrible today as a team and Worthy's passion and determination to not stop obviously means a lot to the fans and they don't like him always been the one to be subbed. Will he let it get to him? Will his head drop next game? No, he'll still go on that pitch and want the ball and do his job because he cares and won't let the manager or a minority of fans let it get to him, he just doesn't give up!

I was livid at the booing of Goodwin today! The pathetic jeers certainly weren't aimed at the substitution of Worthington as they came directly after Goodwin's name was announced. I honestly cannot believe some of our 'fans' at times. Another thing that ****** me right off today was many of the fans who sit by me at the top of the Antich. They never, never, never, never, NEVER EVER join in with any singing/positive signs of support, and they NEVER have but as soon as the "Ternent out" chants came out they all start singing and clapping along!!!!! Fair enough, you're entitled to your opinion and you can express it whatever way you want but I wish these people would be as quick to praise the players/management as they are to moan, jeer and boo!!!!! Grrrrrrr

Grrrrrrr I said the same thing, how come it was like a morgue but then the Ternent out started and all of a sudden about 4000 people found their voices. Why can't they sing/shout like that in support too I asked the bloke behind me why he was singing and he honestly answered that he thought it was for the people leaving - god help us is all I can say.

Large numbers of fans were clearly booing Goodwin as he came on. Absolutely disgraceful, but I suppose we shouldn't be surprised. We have always had it to an extent at Town. Warnock was hammered from the day he arrived and every other manager, win or lose, has been hammered in the 40 years I have been watching the team. Unfortunately the numbers involved seem to get bigger. It was not a small minority having a go at Goodwin when he came onto the pitch. Is there any wonder that players look terrified to try anything.

As far as I'm concerned Goodwin changed the game in our favour when he came on and was partially responsible for us digging out 3 points. He's not a full back, but should still start every game in the middle

Not a Goodwin fan but I have to say he does not appear to have let things upset him and when he came on his contribution was positive. The weak linkl in midfield today was Craney, his goal aside which as pure joy his general play he looks heavy legged and he gets bogged down too much. Goodwin looks the better athlete.
Ultimately we have a great squad now better than the last several seasons we just need a decent coach to get the formation and style of play right.

Agreed, I like Goodwin and anyone booing him clearly would be better off staying at home on a Saturday afternoon
The treatment of our own players at times disgusts me

I'm glad I read this thread. I was expecting to be slated for claiming Goodwin should be in the team ahead of Worthy; I probably still will be by the blinkered Worthy worshippers, but at least I now know that others can see through the "he runs his socks off" attitude and notice that his contribution is minimal.
Goodwin was so much better when he came on. Parked infront of the back four, allowing Roberts and Jones (who didn't have a good game) to push forwards to support Parker and Jevons. He contributes so much more than Worthington; more than a decent tackle in amongst giving away several free kicks; more than a series of throw ins for the opposition resulting from misplacing the simplest passes; I'd also have a hell of a lot more confidence if I saw him picking up a loose ball for a shot.

The argument between Jeppo and JG looked intense. Jeppo wanted him to carry on playing with the Crewe player injured on the floor. Pure class.

Goodwin should get his chance next week to play in his natural position - lets see how he does?
If, unlike early season he does enough to warrant a place he'll keep it. The booing of Goodwin was pathetic as is the numpty in the Antic whose only contribution each week is to boo Williams.
Its not Worthy's fault that Stan picks him in front of the player that Stan brought into fill that role its just another example of our managers mistakes in squad building.

I don't understand why you pathetic glory-hunters boo our players. What has Goodwin done wrong? He can tackle, he can pass and is a much better fullback than centre mid.
