Lets be fair they were both poor yesterday and how roberts continues to get a shirt baffles me he's been crap in the last few we have played!
Craneys goal was good but apart from that he was useless!

Must say I agree about Roberts, he's flattered to deceive a-lately. Also one of the problems in paying wide men is that they HAVE to track back and help out the full backs on occasions - thats perhaps why we are so vunerable in those positions!! Craney offers us a lot going forward which we need when playing one man up front but yesterday he had an off game as did others. Roberts could be classed, in some senses, as a luxury player !!!

Agree with most of this Basil, posted something similar after my Bristol Rovers match views. We seem to lose shape and discipline in midfield when we go ahead which puts a lot of pressure on our defence and in my opinion makes the defense look like the guilty party. Especially when you look at the attacking attitudes of our wingers. This further backs up the case about us seemingly not having any decent full backs, which I don't think is the case. I just don't think they get a chance with the lack of cover ahead of them Roberts is a luxury player but he is also a match winner and the best player we have. We have to find a place for him in the side

When everyone was raving about Roberts after the first couple of games, I said we'll have to accept, like most wingers, he'll have some quiet games. He's not going to be a match winner week in week out, but he should definitely be one of the first names on the team sheet for me, especially as apart from Kamara he's our only genuine winger. As for Craney, he's had a couple of quiet games but I really rate him. It amazes me, that despite scoring the majority of our goals, there's people wanting Roberts, Craney, Flynn, and Dickinson out of the side. I know football isn't all about goal scoring, but I've always thought its fairly important

craney was rubbish yesterday, he cannot jump for a header. all he does is push them to knock them off balance

I know football isn't all about goal scoring, but I've always thought its fairly important Yep, I'd agree with that. Some fans think that only academy players should be picked, its getting like Athletic Bilbao where the fans dicatate only Basques can play for the team. Collins has been awful when he has played this season yet fans still phone Radio Leeds stating he should be in the starting eleven. I think there are some 'supporters' who don't rate any of the incoming players - yet they are probably the ones who thought Phil Senior was a great keeper just because he was a 'local lad' or a 'nice chap'.

Craney showed the best and worst of his game yesterday
Pluses: Lively for 40 minutes, sweet finish, well positioned, made some good runs off the ball.
Negatives: Absent for 50 minutes, jogging back, not marking, lack of shape - dodged the tackle on the edge of their box which led to the ball through for the equaliser and jogged his way back as they scored.
Got quality without doubt, but a luxory in a 2 man central midfield in a team struggling.

roberts is over-rated by town fans dont no why but he is and craney shows glimpses of being a very good player but then lets himself down

I don't think he should play Craney and Flynn together in a 442.....or if he does it should be Craney who plays out wide for me!!
He is too lightweight in the centre and I think Flynn offers more in there!!
Roberts needs to get his finger out!! He is obviously a very talented lad but hasn't shown enough for me!!

5 goals and 5 assists for Roberts tells me why he's in the team every week www.football-league.co.uk/page/Assists/0,,10794~200810312,00.html www.football-league.co.uk/page/Goalscorers/0,,10794~200810312,00.html Holdsworth got 12 assists last season (joint 2nd highest in the division), so if Roberts continues like this he's on course to match him. www.football-league.co.uk/page/DivisionalAssists/0,,10794~200725,00.html

Not been a huge fan of Craney since he arrived, think Flynn shows a lot more all round game and can head a bit (Craney's 'heading' was diabolical on Sat, as useless as Scoffer but gave away more fouls!). I agree that maybe put Craney on the wing and Flynn down the middle?
As for Roberts, he does look like a luxury player, but on his day (or even moment) he is a cut above.

Sorry, football IS all about goal-scoring!!! You can score as many goals as you like and lose If you keep a clean sheet you can't lose and are guarnateed a point. Which is better? I'm being pedantic - but the point is craney and flynn together in a 442 does not work - see hartlepool away when we took worthy off. As for roberts, staretd brilliantly but faded a bit. Still 5 goals amd 5 asissts - can't argue with it. Working harder than most of the ther players as well imo. Least of our worries imo.

If your saying Roberts is poor. I'd like to know who he is being compared to, cos it cant be anybody else in a town shirt. For me he's been one of our better players, personally I'd like to see some of the other putting in the effort that he does. Lets not forget this is div 3 footy.

craney is always likely to pop up with a goal as his record suggests, tbh they gave him so much space for the goal on sat he should have got it ! some of his other play isnt brilliant and he doesnt seem to win many challenges, difficult one but look how poor worthingtons goal record is !!

IMHO Worthington will never score a goal like Craney did on Saturday if he plays until he's 100. He is not "intelligent" enough.
