I thought he was dreadful. I'm not one for criticising normally as they have a hard job to do and one which I wouldn't dream of doing. That said there is no excuse for his performance and ...... Darren Drysdale is the referee whom Dean Windass had the spat in the car park with when he was at Bradford. Saturday was obviously not a one off!

A number of players complained at the way he spoke to them during the game.

More info has arrived.
"Sir" Drysdale is a referee part-time but his full time job is as a sergaent at RAF Waddington. This fully explains why he appaerently speaks to players like he does. Apparently he thinks that the game revolves around him(googled that!).

Are the referees in the Football League professional? Nope, still all part time. Only the Premier refs are full time.
