Right, 7 month cock-up over. Thanks for nothing Watson ( once again!) This season is still winnable. lets get the right man in this time, and crack on. Ternent was NEVER the right fit for this club. If hed got the job when Ritchie got it it would have made more sense. Back then we were a club going nowhere. Dour, dull and stuck in a very deep rut. But that all changed the moment Hoyle stepped forward. We suddenly became a club with life! Full of ambition and excitement. 16000+ season ticket holders FFS! A dream chairman. Everything pointed to a bright exciting fresh start. So we go and appoint an old man. A dour ,old-school ,dinosaur with a miserable, dull as ditch water character. Stuck in the 1970s attitude wise. It couldn't have been a worse fit! dead chuffed! Well done dean

for gods sake let us not rush the appointment, lets get the right man for the job, someone who will work with well with gerry, not against him! I dont like town sacking managers and ideally wouldve given him time, but im not disappointed hes gone. KTF

I'll tell you what I think has happenned here. Hoyle has wanted ternent out for while. Not just cos of the results (which is obvious) but because of lots of other things that have gone on off the pitch. The 'atmosphere' within the club. If a managers getting results he can get away with a lot. If he isn't, then he can't. But it was davys decision to make. My guess is that davy has said to Hoyle,'"Look, Im not happy either, but until you can line up someone better, we'll stick with ST. As soon as you can, you can fire him" I really think there is no coincidence that this has happened so soon after Boothrotd has left watford.

Was thinking along those lines as well - but could it be John Ward?? ;D ;D

Great news, well done Deano. Please, please get the right man this time. Ady Boothroyd sounds good to me. The Town connection is irrelevant to his being the right man for the job. He is the right age, a good tactician and has a good record in the higher divisions. As for being shown the door by Watford, the vast majority of managers, however good, get sacked sooner or later. Get Town playing football again, with skill and style and put a smile back on the faces of everyone associated with our great club. Lets press on from here starting with the cup game. The Leeds game would be a good one for the new management team to start with.
