but least the new manager will have plenty of games to at least try and turn it around, we could have waited until christmas and then the season would have been over if stan had still been in charge.

We're right back at square one again. How are we? On the face of it, it looks like a step back....but I see it as rectifying a mistake....and those responsible have also paid the price (Watson).

They'll be happy now - revelling in people losing their jobs (what's Jepson done to deserve sacking by the way?). They won't be if the next manager doesn't get us to the play-offs by Christmas.

Don't be ridiculous. It's not JUST the results that's brought about this decision.....it's the performances, the attitudes, the comments, the fall outs, and much much more.... Oh and Jeppo is part of ST's team....so clearly he had to go too. The new man will need his own staff.....and I believe one of those staff was linked with Town in the 80's

Alternatively, what has Jepson done to deserve to stay? You live and die by your results. Anyway, it'd be crazy to sack Stan and keep the rest of the backroom staff that he brought in - it would have only created the same problem that Andy Ritchie endured. Jeppo will forever be a Town playing legend but unfortunately management-wise, it just wasn't meant to be.

You're right, you're not back at square one. You will be further behind than that now lads! 14 games to gel a new team, not exactly a long time is it?? I wish HTFC well, but you REALLY need to get rid of the poison at your club. Someone on here has referred to Stan as dour and dull ?? You cannot be further off the mark. And now you have GM in charge I believe, well at least he'll be happy. Good Luck to your next manager, because he will definately need it with 'bad apple's' floating about the place which you defiantely have. I genuinely feel sorry for you, on the other hand Ive never witnessed supporters become So fickle and lack so much foresight in such a short time. Your loss, unlucky. League 2 next season???

Fickle??? We've suffered long enough pal. We deserve some of the good times and you only have your fathers take on things so you are not able to make an unbiased judgement. Watson was the bad apple and now he's gone. Im sorry that your dad didnt manage to give us what we want. He wasnt the right appointment for our club from the outset and we have Watson and his old pals act to blame for that.

Alternatively, what has Jepson done to deserve to stay? You live and die by your results So why has my Docherty been sacked then? 100% win record with the reserves, it's a ruddy disgrace I tell thee.

Bad results are inevitable for all but a few teams but some Town fans seem to expect instant success. Sorry, it ain't that simple and Town manager is now an impossible job.

We don't expect instant success, but we did expect to improve on last season. The man could not cut it despite a free reign in the transfer market. What more could this man have wanted. The team was not improving, it was struggling to get points off low teams and getting hammered by teams above. He will go down as a poor TOWN manager END OF.

He hasn't done one single thing to be positive about. For me he'll go down as one of the worst managers this club has ever had. On a par with the MacDonalds,Wadsworths and Collins's of our history. He was a lousy appointment, the wrong man for the club at the wrong time. Maybe hed have been better if hed have come in when ritchie did and hadn't had any backing, but I doubt it. Hes been judged fairly and can have no complaints.
We'll see if the next manager can do more with the 'beer money' Hoyle will make available!

The very fact that andrew watson won't be a part of the interview process for the new manager gives me every confidence that we'll have a manager who can fire us up the league this season. For me it would have been perfect irony if he'd have gone a couple of weeks ago - to commemorate his disgraceful antics at Doncaster when he ordered an end to the anti-davy protests by having the banners taken down. In fact when you think about it, today has seen both the end of a bully boy and his primitive tactics and a guy whose tactics towards the fans would have brought him a round of applause in central Europe about 70 years ago. I'm convinced that getting rid of these two is the best thing that could have happened to this club at this present time. Bloody hell, next thing we're going to hear is that davy has given Huddersfield Town their shares back. Well, don't think that's going to happen yet, but my oh my what a wonderful day.

haha
yep - definitely happy
a very positive day for HTFC
still time to save the season, we could have waited until christmas or whenever, but this at least gives the new guy a chance
Stan did nothing positive for this club - not one thing
If you can name anything you were happy about - please offer them to me
Signings? Performances? Results? Attitude?
I dont think anyone could have got it more wrong if they had tried.

Best news I've heard in along time Stan - because of attitude/performance and ultimately results Jepo - because of the same reasons above not sure about attitude though Docherty - Appointed by Stan, mates with Stan could have caused problems if Docherty stayed Watson- Persuaded board to appoint Stan, Watson also life long Burnley fan. Was told that his desk was littered with Burnley merchandise. If these people are not 100% for Town then they can go. Well done Dean he is making things happen, Oh and by the way the booing was justified because of performance. We are not back to square one it's an improvement. If Gerry can take temp charge to steady the ship which we know he can, we have some good players and if he starts to get them to play as a team. We can still stand a good chance of atleast playoffs, we have some good players

I have to say i'm not at all happy about this, we're fast becoming the Newcastle of league one. You CANNOT buy success within 15 games or so however much you spend. Maybe Stan wasn't a good manager, maybe he was BUT the fact is we didn't give him long enough to find out. As I can see its a pritty popular decision judging by people's responses on this board, but when Huddersfield Town doesn't even give the new manager the decency of half a season we're in trouble.
Any 'young manager' which so many people on here wanted is going to think twice about taking the job. If he doesn't deliver instant sucess within 15 games he'll be out and managerial career over. Well done!
