.... I know there will be loads of people happy, but please temper your undoubted joy with a bit of repsect..
none of this "**** off" malarkey or "we hated you"
I genuinely believe that he wanted to do well, ( as all football managers do) but I guess his personality was just too much (and I believe it was, considering some of the stories, and those that haven't made it to public knowledge.
Another set of polls on who we want etc, will now plague this website... c'est la vie

Yeh.
It just didn't happen though did it. Managers are judged on results etc...I can see where he got unlucky. BUT we can all see the signings of centre-mids galore didn't help either.
Good work from the board imo. Lets hope for the best now.

Yep, I concur. A bit of respect wouldn't go amiss.

Definitely. Stan had only the best intentions at Huddersfield Town, and i'm sorry to see a character like him leave under these circumstances.

He certainly didn't lose on purpose. Rude comments and retrospective words of 'wisdom' don't deserve the bandwidth.
He rubbed some people up the wrong way with his attitude, that's for sure.

Agreed!
Personally, I don't think last season's squad was anywhere near good enough to win promotion. It needed a shake up, Stan did that. He also had the balls to question our very average academy. He may have gone about this the wrong way but I felt this was an issue that needed to be addressed.
Plainly things didn't work out for Stan at HTFC but I'd like to thank him for his efforts and I wish him all the best for the future.
We've certainly had an entertaining season, three 3-2 scorelines and a 5-3, and I shan't forget our 4-0 demolition of B*atfud in a hurry.
All the best Stan.

Well, another year, another two managers!
It's not good to see the turnover in our dugout getting so ridicolously fast! However the last two appointments have been pretty disasterious.
At least Richie had the excuse he had no money, Ternent doubled the wage bill and ripped the heart out of a team that finished last season so well.
Hope it is Boothroyd and can only think it would be seeing as though nobody was expecting this after a win - even against such a woeful team as Crewe, but lets not kid ourselves we were not going in the right direction under Stan.
Ternent was a shock appointment nobody wanted and made himself quickly unpopular by getting on at everybody for expecting promotion - after two years of mediocraty and good backing from the board, he knew he wouldn't have time when he took the job. He seemed to annoy everybody and his post-match quotes sounded so arrogent when compared to the results on the pitch.
Boothroyd was been lauded in the Prem less than two years ago and inspired a revolution on a shoestring at Watford. Ok, his teams aren't great to watch but they can't be any worse than watching the complete dross being served up this season!
It was a hard decision but can't see it being a bad one for Town in the long run. Ternent was on his way to a retirement pay off (one he has now probably got a lot quicker than he expected!)

I agree, no one goes out of their ay to do badly. It just didn't work out ...

While I agree that there's no need to resort to name-calling, I do think respect is a two-way thing and don't think he showed much (or enough) to our club. The comments in the media turned a lot of fans against him as he didn't seem too bothered about the job.

Maybe, I do think thought that when he praised the crowd a lot of people turned a blind eye to that and just focussed on when he did say something that maybe he shouldn't.
I just think he got his tactics wrong at times, came up against a better side on the day at other times and due to the expectations came up against a shorter timescale to get it right than others.
Never nice to see someone lost their job but I think it is best for both parties. No need to be bitter towards the man, I'm sure if he could have got us to the top of the league he would of been thrilled.
Hopefully now though we can move onwards and upwards and maybe even see some football played on the deck and good to watch.

As a human being the Geordie Messiah lost the opportunity of anything but minimal respect from me when
a) He referred in his autobiography to a salary of £70,000 being "F**K All" (my asterix's not his) - he is as bad as "Cashly Cole" without as much skill (and a lot less money). What a lot of respect he shows to the efforts of the vast majority of supporters of the "working class" game (average annual salary in the Uk less than £30k) ; and
b) I learnt that he'd had to stand up in court and admit he'd told a number of lies in his autobiography - thus using his lies to profit from unsuspecting people (including me). To compound his lies he allowed the book to be marketed under the tag-line "Brutally Honest".
Unfortunately as he was manager of Huddersfield Town I wanted him to be successul in his professional life & have never booed or abused him (even during the nightmare that was Peterborough).
However he has made a terrible mess of this role, wasting the best opportunity this club has had for over 10 years to turn it's fortunes around.
With apologies to the creator of this post, I struggle to think of anybody in football less deserving of my respect.
PS Have another look at his book (but please don't buy it), DATM is like a childrens tea party compared to the abuse handed out by ST.

Lets just remember, this is a 62 yr old bloke plying his trade in a younger mans game, so this will be a disappointment to ST, more in respect of his pride and not being able to retire on a successful note. He's not a 'name' in football terms & I'm certain he had the best intentions, otherwise why would a 62 yr old take the job when he could have opted for a quiet life. I hope that whoever we get to replace him has the same drive and determination that ST obviously had. It was the results on the pitch that did it, not his attitude. We are after all in the ficklest industry of the lot...
At 62 he's seen it all before, so whatever the name-callers start in relation to this, ST will probably not even be bothered. I hope he'll have the dignity not to belittle himself by responding in a like-minded fashion to the narrow minded few on here...

I understand your points totally andyeastleake, and I think you put your point across very well I too have my own judgement on him, but would rather just forget he ever came to town (I was against him and RJ from the very start)
I just don't like the vulgar tone of some comments - yet I understand passions run highly for we all have blue and white blood and we ALL desperately want something positive to talk about other than another weekend of depressing football.
I think he is an arrogant individual, and I have been privy to some of the things not in the public domain, and personally cannot understand how the human mind works sometimes - but I am a softy at heart and am thankful that some of the cringeworthy episode (radio Leeds interviews) are not to be heard again !!!
