It was on the radio earlier that Mitch has not applied for the job as he's quite happy being the academy coach. But he said he will do any job the chairman wants him to do. He loves the club so would work for free if he needed to ;D
He came across as not being that interested in the job although clearly made the point if he was asked to help out he is happy to do so, as he is doing at the moment.
So i think we can assume it will be an outside appointment and Gerry seems to think it will be before the next game

I bloody hope so!!! Time to get the new man in so he has a few games to evaluate things and a bit of wheeler dealing in jan to attempt to salvage the season!! More importantly, we need a man to rally around and unify the support for a change!!

If we allow this season to drift, it'll be hard for the players to hit the ground running next year. We need to get some momentum going in the second half of this season if nothing else.

Gerry don't want the job but I am sure he can keep us in the top half of the table. Give Mr Hoyle time to get the right man this time for all our sakes. Although if what I am told is correct he (Mr Hoyle) has already decided who he wants.

The rush is because at the moment we arent good enough and there is still time to have a say in the play off shake up if we get it right and quickly ! I admire your optimism re GM, but we have now played four games under him and Mitch and won two away and lost two at home - that is exactly the same inconsistency we have seen over recent years and as such not top half of the table material. Forget this we are playing better / could have won by 3 or 4 against vale type nonsense - we could just as easily have lost at brighton and at leeds (missed pen and hit bar at crucial times respectively!) and the picture would still be the same - i.e good and bad but full of inconsistency!

I cant disagree with some of that, but we have had decent managers whose teams got consistent results even if the performances werent the best at times - both buxton and warnock produced sides whose sum total was better than its constituent parts! For me we have more raw ability in the club now than under warnock but it bloody infuriates me that we arent showing it! We need a manager who can reverse the trend and quickly!!
