Dear Marcus
Thank you for your email with regards to the above fixture at Elland Road.
I am sorry to hear that a number of your supporters had concerns. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to answer the points raised with regards to the Police operation.
With reference to some of the points raised at the ground:
The quote from the gent ejected for trying to organise a fight, this actually came from the Police not the Club. An arrest was made with regards to the gent throwing a coin. The vigilance of the stewards, ensured the gent in question was detained and subsequently arrested.
With regards to the end of the match, it is very difficult to conduct a hold back for any fixture and the decision is not taken lightly. On this occasion, a decision was made at the half time Police brief that we would not hold back the fans. However at the end of the fixture, a large number of officers were deployed externally to move away any Leeds fans that may try to cause a problem. We did have stewards on the gate, where Huddersfield fans decided to stop. The area was then cleared, including spectators that wished to go to the shop, enabling the fans to leave safely.
I hope this has answered a few of your queries and suggest that any questions relating to the Police operation are directed to them accordingly.
Yours sincerely Sue Kilroy Safety Officer

I know this is nothing to do with the Leeds match but there is an article in todays Yorkshire Evening Post about a steward being sacked by L**ds as he was caught on cctv celebrating a goal!
And that's there own staff!!
After reading that reply, it's nice to see that their safety team are just as useless as ours.
